I have been here 2 years now and made it up to a group shoot 1 time. Some of you might remember me. Anyhow, is there any interest for any of y'all to come shoot a 3-gun match and have a BBQ and swim/fish/tube on Lake Powell? I set up a three gun match a few months back for fun and bragging rights. It was a blast!  I am trying to set up another match on Sept.11th. The range is truly world class and you will not be disapointed. We can stay and shoot all day after the match if anyone wants to. Lots of steel from 5yds to 1 mile

All I have in watercraft is a canoe though.

I think I'm good for around then. Got guns, but no watercraft.

Cool , do you guys want to stay at my place?

I know you'd mentioned you have plenty of space for people to set up tents. I would be happy with that.

I'm tentatively in.

Spent some time on Sunday setting up another rifle stage. We can stay and shoot after the match if anyone wants to see how far they can make hits with their carbines. Let me know if you guys want to BBQ after the match. - Art

What type of ammo for the shotties would we need?

If I was in the country, I'd come down and bring my tech-9 for the 1 mile shooting.

Birdshot #6 or smaller would work fine.

You guys let me know, I have a bedroom with a queen bed and lots of floor space open. There is unlimited camping available here.
I would bring everything you think you will need with you. It is VERY remote out here. We can BBQ at my place after we are done shooting if anyone is interested. We can fish some striper boils or get drunk and swim/ski/tube. Let me know what you think. Also if anyone wants to play with my M16 you should bring some ammo. Feel free to IM me if you have questions.

rugerdog,
I think I have a bag of empty soda cans and cannon fuse around here somewhere.......

I might be in, I have a lil boat and a bag of guns.

After the party we can head up to canada

I think we can take them.

I'll have to run it by the wife though, and if there is a need I may be able to take the FIL's boat that can pull a skier.

I have been trying to find a way to incorporate the Beer can launcher into the match. I usually have these thoughts when I am making ammo for it

Update!

I will have to leave on Sunday to go to Layton for a seminar. This does not affect the match, just how much time we will have on Sunday to do stuff. If y'all want we can use my boat so you dont have to haul your stuff all the way down here.

We should get a head count going so I can figure out where people can stay.

Be prepared for rifle shots from 3-330 yards, pistol shots from 3-25 yards and shotgun is just a nightmare with poppers and flippers and knockdowns.

If you want to bring some long range kits we can definately make use of them Sat after the match.

It adds variety, in one station you shoot a can downrange and the shooter has to get a hit on it best way they can. Also involves other targets, but the mortar can be a component.

Wish I could go, but Utah State Sniper competition is on 9/11.

Have fun at the 3 gun.

With the shorter amount of time I will just bring the guns.

So when is the match starting? Should we get there the night before if we plan on starting early or the day of? I'm able to do either.

Ok, who else is still going?

What kind of round count should we expect? That and directions.

150 rifle

150 pistol

35 birdshot

Please no AP ammo on the steel.
It costs $20 to help cover insurance and the port-a-jon
We can stay and have free rein on the range after the shoot, so bring whatever toys you might want to shoot.
I would bring as much ammo as you think you will shoot.
Directions tonight.

Well my rifle is not ready like I expected it to be. I'll come down and shoot pistol and shotgun unless someone has a 7.62x39 I can use.

Oh, and anybody in the SLC are interested in carpooling down? I can drive.

Unfortunately I don't have any more time off this weekend, I used it for my fiancee's birthday this last weekend. Sorry folks.

Dan, you're welcome to take down my AR-15 and 870 if you want. I replaced the gas rings in the AR and the gun is sighted in, so it should be good to go.  Just put a couple hundred rounds through it at 75-100 yards this last week and didn't have that weird FTE issue we had the last time we were out.

Maybe wanna pick up some Loc-Tite for the sight though.

You are welcome to use my beater AK. It isn't much to look at but will hit where the sights are pointed.
You could use one of my AR's as well.

I'll take you up on that. Is there any sort of AK other than a beater? And I love 'em for it.
