You can go to Bountiful Gun Club, Holiday Gun Club (but you have to be a member), Big Shot Ranch in Grantsville (that would be my choice) you can shoot out to about 900 yards.

I thought Big Shot Ranch only did the shotgun thing, do they have a rifle range or just open country? I checked out their website and nothing indicates a rifle range and I only get the answering machine when I call.

I have not been out there yet (except to shoot sporting clays), but I talked to the owner they are now set up with rifle and pistol ranges and they do 3 gun matches. He also told me they will have a shoot house soon. And be teaching advanced training.

I would call first to make sure they are open, but he told me they were open on weekend, days during the week I can't remember, and by appointment (I assume that was for sporting calys)

They are set up for rifles/pistols. It is $10 to use the rifle/pistol ranges. They are open on Saturdays.

Drove around Grantsville for 30 min and couldn't find the place. Took the first, second and third lefts just after getting off of Exit 88. Called the guy and he was less than helpful. He said just take the first left, can't miss it. Well first left took us to a dead end. Asked a few people but they had no clue what I was talking about. Then on top of that he tells me they are closed today, after I called on Thursday and they told me they would be open. Ended up going to Lee Kay. Not the best place, but better than nothing.

I never did find it. We find a sign for a bird ranch, but that was it. We took every left until we hit Grantsville, but never found the place. |

there is a pretty decent gun range acrost from rocky moutian race way, i think a little east... i forget

That's where we usually go. I get tired of the range officers though. This weekend they were bitching to everyone about the firearms I was shooting. They actually told one group to stay away from us because our guns were probably unsafe. Not sure what that meant. It seems I catch shit from them every time I'm there if I bring anything other than bolt guns and .22's. |
