That was a little assuming on my part.
I own .223, 9mm, 300wsm and 12g. The other members own the other calibers. But if you complement Them on their fine skillz and shooting prowess, you shouldn't have troubles. FWIW I don't think 7.62x39 or 12g got shot last time. Oh, and don't shoot better than someone with their own gun...that's a no-no |
Thanks, I'll be there. What time are you guys meeting? |
We always meet @ 10am., but we dont leave until Luckypunk gets there at 10:15.
Welcome aboard! You have a High Power eh? Yesss, my faith in JMB will be ever strengthened!! Lukcypunk pretty much covered everything. We are meeting at 10am on Jan 28, at the Shell station on Orchard street, right across the road from Dennis Dillion. |

This was just posted on a list that I subscribe to:
"Bruce, The Super Sniper is the best scope out there for that price range. It has actually been compared to the more high dollar Leopulds and found to be just as good or better. I've got two of them and both have tracked perfectly and both have superb optics. One of them is on a .300 WM and take a beating, but stays perfect. I've heard of the other two you've mentioned, but haven't heard anything good about them. If you're going to get a variable powered scope, make sure you get one with the reticle on the first focal plane, that way the mil-dots will be good at all ranges. If you get a scope with the reticle on the second focal plane, you will only be able to use the mil-dots on one power setting. (Usually 10x) There is a new scope out from SWFA that is the big brother to the Super Sniper and that is the XOTIC. It has the 50mm objective like you want and is also variable. I think from 4x to 24x. It is supposed to be awesome, but it is also hard to get right now, because they are filling some military contracts. The scope runs $799 and is supposed to be just as good as a Nightforce. If you have the money, then buying a Nightforce, USO, or S&B would be the ticket." |

Man, your in a good mood tonight, I always thought it was closer to 10:30!! |
Yeah, I guess I forgot about the mandatory BS meeting before departure. |

HennyBogan: Did you put your name in the "Idaho where you live" thread thats tacked at the top of this forum yet?
Hey spiff.
They may still have a 10x S.S. at boise gun. It was mounted to a Remmy sendero .223 over by the bear. the only deal breaker (for me) is that it is fixed power .....and iirc HECHO IN R.O.C. OK done ripping on S.S. they were supposed to be coming out with a vari-power |
Spiff, Luckypunk, ar10er, Ryfter and others: Have you all seen the LLC thread here? AZ gun nut has a thread going...sounds cool.
I saw it. Just not sure I'm in the market for any class III firearms. |
Doesn't just have to be firearms. It applies to Suppressors too since those are Class III items as well.
And spiff, you'll want one after I let you shoot my UZI! |
You got to admit that was a beautyful mag-dump I pulled off into the water
Cyclic rate seemed scary fast without the H-buffer. |
My wife is going to end up divorcing me................... |
I cant believe how cool I am in that photo, no wonder all the girls were all over me!
I've got a fever...and the only prescription is more Cowbell.... |
I own a Herbert Schmidt .22 caliber revolver...... |
I sure do... so bring lots of 9mm if you guys want a go at it. |
Sooo....how much does a full auto UZI cost? |
subguns.com sturmgewehr.com uzitalk.com Last I knew they varied between $4k (didn't last long), $6-7k for a Vector, and $8k for an IMI original. It also depends on whether it is "factory" or a conversion, registered bolt vs registered receiver, etc. Actual owners, like AZ_Gun_Nut, would know much better. I had been considering buying one, saving for an M16, or going for broke with the Arfcom "get both!" strategy. Unfortunately, my board certification is costing several thousand dollars. Business before pleasure for the next 5-10 years, so no full-auto NFA for me anytime soon. |
Well I defintely can't pass up an uzi! Who's got the best prices on ammo in town? Especially 9mm...
.45 will be more, maybe $15 a box? I'm not sure. For .223 they have WWB but I always like to buy from either Sportsmans Warehouse or Boise Gun Company.
What kind of .45 do ya got? |
100 rounds + UZI = 3 seconds? (edit: I guess its closer to 10 seconds) Resulting smiles last much longer I am sure. |
You're pretty much on the money with your figures. |
I'm in the same boat Doc. I have nothing against spending $$ to feed my gun hobby, but those prices are a bit more than I'm willing to shell out. Damn, I was hoping an UZI might be less. AZ_Gun_Nut, what kind of 9mm ammo does the UZI like the most? I have lots of brass so I can knock off whatever it likes to eat. |
I actually don't have one yet (6 month residency law), but I figured if I bought the rounds I can have fun with someone's .45, same with the .223. I only have a Browning HP 9 right now. I'm still figuring out what kind of AR I'm going to get. But as soon as March rolls around though, I'm getting one.
It will digest pretty much anything I feed it. I've ran Wolf in it with no problems but the Winchester value pack stuff is what I feed it pretty much.
I dont have money for the FA stuff, but the SBR's I could swing!
I'm not 100% positive here but I don't think you need to wait 6 months to purchase a handgun or rifle. The 6 month residency is only for getting NFA CLEO sign offs. As long as you have an Idaho drivers licence you should be good to go. A CCW will speed up your wait time. All you need to get your CCW is either a DD214 if you were prior military or an NRA safety certificate, (hunter safety or some other course, or from a CCW in another state). |
You're probably right. I need to take the time and get an Idaho driver's license. But I could have sworn that the guy said that it's a federal thing to be living in the state for 6 months before you could get any sort of gun. He used the example of me getting some stuff and then rolling back into California. The license will still have an issue date that would determine my status. But its entirely possible that I'm wrong.
A valid DL should be good as long as it has your current address. If not, you'll need a bill with your name and address on it. At least thats the run around the dude at Big 5 gave me...
Dude....You got the monkey on your back if you're gun shopping at Big 5
Yeah, I probably wont be buying any more guns there. I bought the Mossberg 500 12 ga. with 2 barrels for $220. The deal was good enough.
In other news UPS sucks. |
There's no such Federal law that I'm aware of and Federal law cannot prempt State law anyway. Example, Federal law states that you must be at least 18 to buy a handgun, most state laws say 21. |
You guys already left? I'm on call, but might sneak over for a bit.
Oh there was plenty of beef jerky and mountains of "clips" that I didnt really need
Did you see an SKS with a scope tack-welded to it, sign saying:
"Authentic Russian Spetsnaz Sniper Rifle. Shots gud. $1500" ?? More seriously, were there any good deals on stuff I need for my AR? |
