I think $75 was a good deal.

Two 10 round butler creek mags, 1 factory mag (not pictured) a hotlips loader, and a little 3x-7x
Tasco scope. Hardly any wear at all. Wife didn't like it too much when I said I'm gonna take the little one out shooting soon.

What's the make and model?

Looks like a good deal for $75. Did they have another one?

Today's Bi-Mart coupon book has 10/22, 25 rnd Butler Creek mags for $15.77... and 500 rnds Federal Champion .22 LR for $7.99.

And tell the wife, you're going to take all the kids shooting when they're old enough

You're one of those know-it-all's in school who shouted out answers when the teacher asked another student, weren't you?

A Ruger 10/22 was my first rifle. I still have it, and what a great rifle. My dad went to Bimart and picked up one for me and one for himself. He said if I helped remodel the front and backyards over a summer, the rifle was mine. So I earned that bad boy.

Hehe.. I might do it.. I just snagged the rifle because I thought it was a good deal, and for when I get bored shooting my other toys that I see dollar signs every time I pull the trigger and toss the round down range.

plink random junk at the pit.. and that damned mole in my back yard.

+1

Mine has the Butler Creek folding stock. I scored a couple of the Steel Lip Butler mags for about $25. each. Word of mouth says these mags will last about as long as the rifle. I topped it off with a red-dot and it packs well on my on-off road bike.

Mine likes the Winchester Dyna-point or Wildcat ammo for the best function and pretty damned good accuracy too.

LOL.. haven't had it too long and so.. LET THE MODDING BEGIN!

Grinding out the bolt release to make an auto bolt release, got an extended mag release for it. For sure I am gonna keep the wood stock on it, Almost bought an SKS just so I can have a 'woodie' in the collection.. still might but this will be good for now.
Link Posted: 3/2/2006 4:11:15 PM EDT
If you want an SKS I've got one I'd be willing to part with. It's chinese Norinco. Some stock damage but I've got a line on a composite folding stock brandnew for 30.00. Would be willing to negotiate since there is stock damage. It fires great no function problems at all. E-mail me if interested.

$75???? you had to give up your virginity too I assume?
Can't own too many 10-22's. Time to take the family out again for some just-for-fun-plinkin...
Link Posted: 3/3/2006 10:11:21 PM EDT
Funny thing here, just got one of my dad's 10/22's working again. The thing was broken for, oh, about 20 years. All it took was $3.50 in parts from Ruger (receiver pins, ejector, hammer strut, etc...), and now the thing works.

Now my family is awash in 10/22's. I have one, my brother has one, and my dad's got two. Hells yeah!

BTW: Ruger replacement parts are cheap, cheap, cheap! The only problem is that they won't sell some parts (10/22 Target model trigger components, and mini-14 FCG parts).

welp took the hammer and alot of contact surfaces to the scotch brite wheel.. got the trigger pull down to around 2.1-2.5lbs by using a (LOL) Postage scale.

I took my 4 year old out today with the stock trigger.. she had such a hard time pulling the trigger. but she popped off her first round and got an ear to ear grin..

Bang.... BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Daddy! Reload it please!

Got the auto bolt release done.. Yay for small files.

Geez with this trigger I might be able to bump fire it...

Edit: Little more tweaking and polishing. I need to get a trigger pull gauge. Almost no creep... I'm guessing a dead two pound trigger.

Good few real solid thumps to the floor and slapping it around won't get the hammer to fall, neither racking it hard with the trigger depressed or not.
