I just wanted to metion that there's a show this weekend and was thinking after last weekend we may need a resupply. Also just wanted to see if th usual suspects will be there. I'm picking up my Mark II from Tros in anticipation of the new .22 can. Also thinking about trading off my P99 and Dan Wesson 44mag.

Not trying to hijack, but along the same lines, "the big Reno show" is coming up the 10th,11th, and 12th of march. I am getting a group of us southern central and southern eastern oregon types to caravan to the show. only 12 bucks for a three day pass, 1100 tables. I've never been, but I hear it's a good show. Anyone interested, feel free to pm or shoot me an email.

I don't care about a hijack, but I think your proposal is worthy of it's own thread. Medicman29, where are you located?

I might be at the PDX show this weekend if I get all my homework and studying done

I am in lakeview, about a four hour drive to reno, and 10 minutes from thunder ranch! the show is in March, not Feb., so it won't interfere with you lucky bastards who get to go to the shot show in Feb..

What day do most of you think you'll be going to the PDX show this weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun)? I'm going for sure, just not sure which day. Mrs Hartmann wants to go too.

My brother doing some work for a dude that has a table and gave him some passes which included parking. Never heard of parking passes (and wonder if my brother is right) but that alone makes a trip there worth it (basically free). $15 more dollars to buy beer. One of the few times I get to walk around in public at 10 in the morning, drinking beer and handling firearms

Yeah, because at home, at 10 in the morning you'd be in your underwear, drinking beer, and handling firearms as your daughter loads mags.

I'll be there this morning.

I was there this morning. Took my dad with me. Had an ok time. Place was packed early though. Ive never been fond of large groups of people.
Link Posted: 1/28/2006 5:01:39 PM EDT
I was there yesterday. Picked up 1k of some 223 reloads, and 500rds of 40s&w and a small box of 30-06 for the garand. I was hoping to find a reasonbly priced used removable carry handle for my wife's "soon to be" AR, but ran outta $$$ after the ammo so i stopped looking. BTW anyone have a used detachable carry handle or buis they wanna sell for around $50 or so? havent had too much good luck on the EE.

I was at the show today. saw some of the boys, let the moderator's kid kick my ass for a little while. bought a lower parts kit and some ammo. It was a good time. Nothing extraordinary. No guns this time. too many projects happening to buy new guns.

Saw you there, but didn't actually say 'hi'
Link Posted: 1/28/2006 6:46:10 PM EDT
All in all, a shitty show as usual. You're lucky if you can get ammo cheaper than normal anymore. Guns = completely overpriced, and those only consisted of about 20% of the actual show.

I get so sick of seeing leather wallets, beanie babies and shit knives all over the place.

It was nice finally meeting Capehunter, though. That, and I can't believe peta bought an AIRSOFT gun.

At the end, I walked out with $20 worth of IQ ammo (40 rounds), before it's taken off the market. I really just wanted to go and get some of that Miwall .223 from OMC, but they were sold out by the time I got there. I wasn't about to buy 720 rounds of British Radway Green for $130, either, when I wouldn't even be allowed to use it at TCGC.

I wonder why I bother sometimes.

Wolf 62 gr .223 was $125 or so per 1K.
Wolf 9mm about $95/1000

I also bought a FA M11. The wait begins...

Wasn't that alien cool? That guy had talent! Not exactly my taste though, but cool.

It was my first real gun show. I agree on the gun prices, I didn't see any real discount on the prices I looked at. I did pick up a new Oly hat, M7 Bayonet w/ scabbard, a box of 500 lose rounds of .40 cal, and one of those $160 reload .223 boxes. Got just about everything I was looking for. Now if I could only find a decent holster for my 24/7 pro, I'd be a happy camper.

Thanks for the ammo info.

guns shows sure were differant befor the passing of measure 5 about 5-6 years ago (i actully heard a gun dealer while i was in his shop supporting it since he hated the competiton ) not that is was a totally bad law being it keeps bad guys from buying guns at gun shows but it put all the mom and pops operations out of business so they resorted to selling crap.

back in the day i guess it was about 5-6 years ago now it was wall to wall guns i dont remember any beanie babies or airsoft (the beef jerky guy was there though) . Some of the private sellers with as many guns at the show as dealers so it was very competive. Lots of haggling and you didnt have to made to feel stupid for doing it, you could walk away with good deals even the dealers had to lower the prices to compete .

of coarse some of the decline of guns shows could be contributed to buying and selling on the internet but i noticed it really bad right after it passed and some of the table holders i knew stopped doing it cause of hassle of it.

(pardon the grammer and spelling errors. )

I went Saturday and didn't buy anything. I talked to Cape_hunter and saw 3 other members. I saw petagunner with WS4LIF and I was thinking of talking to them but I missed them (talked too long with other vendors). Somebody I saw buying ammo had a black AR15.com team Oregon shirt(on left side of the building as you walk in ). This show had too many people, airsofties, cheap knives and not enough cool guns.

I thought it was cool. The guy said to me.. "TAKE IT HOME!" saw the price and I said.. $850!.. This better shoot all Calibers and accept regular AR mags or it ain't going nowhere

Brother in law was here from Minnesota so took him Sat. afternoon, they just see no reason for people to have guns so I decided to show him my world called sis on the way there and told her we found the perfect gun for him to buy, such a great deal. She got so mad she swore at him ( she never swears) and hung up on us. Too funny!!! they all think I've gone off the deep end.

Trying to take him shooting today before he flies out tomorrow......

Saw quite a few of the ugly crew off this board and some of the guys from PR. I was really nice to see you all. It would have even been nice to run into WS4LIF. I took my son to his first GS and he thought it was boring, oh well maybe next year.

Billbo thanks for the parts and Cape you know what you did.

That might have been me, as I was wearing my black team shirt and buying ammo.
I love the way my ammo shelves look right after restocking them.
