My dogs are my children, and I would protect them the same.

Well at least they are better looking than their dad.

Those little ShihTzus are angry cusses. They like to bite... ask me how I know.

Unfortunate incident. Too bad the cop didn't have a tazer.

Speak for yourself. My Shih Tzu was the nicest dog I've EVER met. He like everyone...except for my nutty Aunt.

Kind of sad that our JBTs are not a bit better than that.
Seems that they only have one response to any situation that doesn't respond to shouting at it.
Not what I expect from my tax $$$$$$$$

Short Story:

So when I was living in Texas, in a little suburb called Rowlett (think Tigard is to Portland as Rowlett is to Dallas), I actually got the local newspaper.

Well, one incidnet involved a crazy man living about 3 blocks over. He had gone loopy, and climbed up on his roof. Now, since this is Dallas, the roofs are either asphalt/composition shingles or can be barrel tiles for those of us who like to spend money. Well, his roof was a nice barrel tile roof.

So, he starts ripping the tiles off and chucking them at anyone who passes by.

Needless to say, someone called the police. The usual two patrol cars pull up with 3 officers. After trying to get the main down and ducking a few well thrown tiles, the call in SWAT.

Now, aside from the fact that a town of 45,000 people in essentially "bedroom community" has a damn SWAT team, I'd still expect them to handle things in a professional manner. So, they again try to talk the guy down. This has been going on all day and they are now 5 hours into it.

So, the SWAT guys figure they'll just shoot him in the leg and then roll him off.

They did. The reason "Well, we shot him so he wouldn't hurt himself by falling off".

When traveling in China, the roadside vendor may offer you meat on a stick. If it's cheap meat, it's probably chicken. If the meat is more expensive, it's probably dog, which commands a premium there.

I always applied the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy when it comes to Chinese road food. BSW

That's why I don't eat Chinesse food any more.

What you get in the states isn't "Chinese" food. It's something else. Real Chinese food is substantially different (you know...General Tso didn't exist).

I dont support cultures who can't understand that the dog is not a food source but as mans faithful companion on this planet.

My mother, who grew up on a farm, had a cow (trained) as a pet. She tried to get a lamb trained, but it ate a bunch of tar paper and died instead.

BTW, there were two cows. One was Trigger (i.e. like the Lone Ranger horse, but they didn't have horses. Rode the cow anyway) and the other was Taffy (cow with horns that had to have one of her stomachs pumped out from overeating).

Yeah....no wonder she's the way she is now!

Cows are not pets, they can be pets, but they do not depend on humans for survival.

BS, and I don't want to tear into this argument......those are animals bred to be food.

Lewis and Clark thought that dog was one of the better tasting meats to have.
