Considering that deal competely fell through i doubt it.. but hell yes i would pay 10-20 more for a custom engraved lower... and if they had matching uppers i would hit that along with it.. Jess |

It depends if I'm financially recovered from X-Mas or not. I've never built one and wouldn't mind starting, we'll see. I can always wait for the next GB, if I miss out on this one.

Ok so it looks like the Mega's have it.
[ 22 ] Mega [ 84.62% ] [ 4 ] Stag [ 15.38% ] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Votes :: 26 If you want any special engraving I think you should get it done on your own. Come late January I'll check on the deal again, and start talking money so keep your EYES open. So I did a quick count and came up with 30+ lowers. |
Good thing next year is only two weeks and some change away...I am ready for those lowers now.
Mega sends their lowers out as frame only so its not defined. In that case your dealer will be able to log it out as Pistol as long as it isn't logged in as a rilfe lower. In that case if Oregon treats longguns and handguns the same, as far as registration and such, then you are within federal regulations to build a pistol from a "virgin" receiver. All of this has been hashed out several times here on the boards.
You have a Mega with Teflon Coating? Where did that come from? I would have to put my money on the not dropping free issue being due to the broach cutter for the magwell starting to wear out. When this happens the holes they are designed to cut start getting undersized. I have had a Mega among several other brands with tight magwells. Tagged to see the outcome of what a "more refined" lower is and how it will match "all uppers" |

I tried telling him that. I cant count how many 4473s I have marked pistol in the last two years! |
Ya, that's when I turned and walked the other way...........Yuh HUH! Can too!!.........Nuh UHHH, Can NOT!!!..............
So what are we lookin at for $$ ???......need to clean out the garage, take back the pop cans and such.... |
I'm not bashing mega in any way, but we had better check to see how far they are backed up. Last word I had gotten was 2-3 months and the words given to me were "over promise and under deliver"
Do you think there is a 3rd choice we could look at? |
Well, if Mega isn't available, what about Stag? |
RRA=NO
Stag=NO Ametec arms already quoted me $80 a lower for our buy. I vote DPMS or CMMG. |
I really like but I dont like the gun pointing at me |
I'd go for $80 a lower. What kind of group rate would DPMS or CMMG give us? Between the two I'd rather have DPMS. |
I purchased both an Ametec & Mega lower over a year ago for the above price shipped from Ametec, and I personally like my Ametec lower better. The Mega machining is a little nicer, but the magwell would not accept some of my Mags very easily. My new Center mags were very very snug in my Mega, and some other mags were not drop free. No mag issues with my Ametec lower using Colt, Okay, Sanchez, and Center mags. My.02 cents |
Amtec lowers are now $100 each.
I say CMMG! They have a cool logo! Anyways, guys, if we take our time we can get custom made Oregon AR15 lowers.....thats WAY better then any stupid Mega lower or Stag or what ever. I'll work on getting a custom made Oregon only lower....thats something to have and keep. If you want cheap lowers, I'll set you up with a dealer who will send you Stag's for $80 any time. |
I personally dislike the stag lower logo!
Oregon custom would be cool! |
Nice Especially coming from a guy who cannot understand why people shoot "those poor innocent little animals" ..........and the guy who admitted to not eating steak |
Hey all I received a reply from RB about lowers here it is:
"30 would be $80 each that includes shipping, pistol lowers will be and additional $10 each, engraved are additional 10.00 each. Thank you, Robert and Krista PO Box 96 Preemption IL, 61276 Phone and FAX :309-534-8175 www.rbprecision.com" Sound pretty damn good to me expecially if you/we want custom engraving. |
You aren't a vegan are you WS4LIF?? I don't shoot the fury antler having ani,als but they sure are tasty!! MMMMMMMmmmmmm |
Maybe I am... IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH LOVING ANIMALS! Peta, I love ya, and I think needing to know how to hunt is great, I'll be sure to hang with you when I need to eat, oh course, I can handle a gun well enough that I can steal any food I want after you "hunters" kill it/clean it. I like guns to shoot two legged animals... |
Who's lowers are they? Oh boy.....I can envision a design thread for an Oregon AR15.com logo coming in the near future |
Nah just giving ya little ribbing. I like to eat the four legged animals just not killing them. |
Rob and Krista are flipping awesome. They've gotten my business in the past and will continue to get it in the future. I'm all for doing anything through them. |
I checked their site. Stags are $115, RRA's are $120, Superior's are $90. Care to guess? I kinda had my heart set on a Mega (liked the logo). But I'm in as long as I can build a pistol on it. |

I would likely be in on a GB if it was for a lower either manufactured in Oregon or with an arfcom Team Oregon type logo.
I am not interested in anything 'made' by a particular freeloader in Snohomish WA. |
It's nothing major. Just someone who didn't wish to become an advertiser. That in and of itself is no reason to not buy from someone. For many the advertising costs here wouldn't be practical. Add trying to make sales after repeated warnings about conducting business on the forums, then it becomes a reason for some of us not to buy from a particular source. There was also some other stuff said by the person on certain topics which made even some of his faithful followers lose respect for the person. It has to do with a statement about child molesters. If I remembered the title I'd search the archive for it. Anyway, there are plenty of good manufacturers out there. Just about any besides him would be ok with me. Like I said though, something Oregon related would be cool, IMO. If I were to be in on it though I'd need to work with a WA dealer. |
Incorrect. SNS Industries=convicted child molester civil rights advocate |
In this thread, Big Bore Canyon and Noveske Rifle Works are mentioned. |
Cloud Mountains are. I think Noveske makes some. |
We should gather up some pics of the receiver markings, and vote for one....I like the idea of a home-grown one too.......just hope I can scape up enough dough in time......
Mine looks like this: Nobody expects, THE SHOCKER!! |
if the lower had the shocker as the logo I'd be in for a couple easy, that'd be awesome.
Pistol AR, "the Shocker", Yup. Sounds good. Remember: PISTOL!
Could Mountain? Are they "actually" cutting their lowers? |
Honestly I don't know. I'll ask Robyn at the gunshow tomorrow.
Really makes no difference if they are coming from good people and they work good. They have always been pretty cool in my book and they would be marked made in Oregon anyway.
Anyone ever dealt with Noveske??? Those brakes look bitchin'...... |
