I am in the process on buying a new can for my MK23. I have to get Butch Conway's (sheriff) signature/approval for the purchase. Anyone have any reccomendations/advice. I have heard that he is very particular about approving these types of items.

To nitpick a bit, he isn't approving anything. It just need his, or another CLEO signature.

Maybe our mod can help.

Go the trust route.  No prints, no pictures, no having to get signoff from irrational public servants.

make sure:
- you can add and remove trustees as needed.
- you can add and remove inventory as needed.
- you can will it to designated persons.

Interesting information - So asically if you set up a trust you can bypass the hassel of getting a CLEO to sign off on your transfers.

Wow, thanks for the info zzxx99.

I got my Pilot on hold and waiting for Sheriff Conway to sign off. I sent him an e-mail before I bought the Pilot and he said " Sure, I will do it".

So, I bought the Pilot, get the fingerprint, Bookhound helped me filled out the foam 4 and I dropped off the paper work at the Sheriff's office last Monday. I've never heard from them yet. I'll have to call them back next week to follow up.

BTW, anyone here is an attronney and know about setting a trust.

A friend of mine in Gwinnett County just got Conway's signature on his Form4 for an M16 but was told he wouldn't sign for a suppressor.  I went the LLC route for my NFA stuff.  Had my LLC set up in seven days and had my last Form1 approved in three days.  Only took twenty-one days from mailbox to mailbox to get my stamped form back.

So if you setup a living trust - do you then have to retransfer all the C3 items on a Form 4 again with BATFE into the trust and pay for each new tax stamp?
