I have a post ban bushmaster with an extremely loud muzzle break (ask Bookhound, Byte or anyone else who has been to CE when I've been around) that I would like to switch out.  A couple of questions, since I've never built an AR (I know how can I call my self a true ARFCOM'er) - how hard is it to replace the barrel if I go that route?  If I go with the removal and installation route - who has someone that will do it right and a decent price?  Last question - which type of flash hider should I install?

JKiser - how much for a new Bushmaster M4 barrel 14.5 with permanent FH? Any at the show tomorrow?

Let me know what the experts think.

Not an expert but it's easy to remove and install a barrel if you have the tools. I'm sure someone on the board would help you.

Check out  the cost of the shop services you're looking at. The removal and rethread at one online place is $65. If you're barrel is <= 14.5" then you'll need an extended FH (+25) and have it pinned or welded (+25) and have it shipped back (+4).

If your barrel profile is satisfactory and its fairly new I'd get it worked on. Compare that to the cost of selling your used one on the EE and buying a new one.

Email Steve at ADCO for quotes on getting it done (or check out the services on his site).
That will give good idea of cost to get it done.
