Intended victim shoots, kills robbery suspect

A robbery suspect was shot and killed by his intended victim early Friday at a south Fulton County apartment complex, police said.

Fulton County police spokesman Gary Syblis said the robbery victim told police that he was invited to the apartment in the 5400 block of Old National Highway about 12:30 a.m. by a woman who lives there, and when he arrived at her front door, he was approached by two armed men.

The two gunmen attempted to rob the man of his clothing and jewelry, but the victim pulled out his own gun and shot and killed one of the would-be robbers, Syblis said. The second robbery suspect fled the scene.

Syblis identified the dead man as Kenneth Merriweather, 23, of Riverdale.

No charges had been filed late Friday morning, but Syblis said police were still interviewing the woman and the intended robbery victim.

Their names have not been released.

High fives to him, too bad he didnt get both of them. And hopefully her ass will go to jail too! I gaurantee of stories like this started hitting the 5 o clock news daily robberies would drop significantly. Like when they passed the law of shooting carjackers......Now if we werent allowed to have guns, That guy would have been robbed and probably killed and they would be out tonight robbing someone else maybe me or you. Happy new years and stay safe tonight!
