I might head up on Sunday.

Are any of the local gun/gear shops open on Sundays?

Guns plus is open on Sunday. Ed's is always closed though. Not sure about Jim's.

Thanks. Any idea on the surplus/gear stores? I know LightFighter was closed Sundays (and is now closed for good ) but I don't recall about the others.

Is this show going to be anything like the last one I went to? It was HORRIBLE. If its a real show, then I might be up for a short road trip.

I may go, it HAS to be better than the ones in New Bern

I just moved from Morehead to Lumberton, so I am in a bit of "gun shock".
I did go shoot at Jims last night

Yes, my understanding is the Ft. Bragg store wasn't working out. Suprising, considering the whole 82nd is there, but who knows. They also recently changed ownership, so maybe they're consolidating.

Not surprising to me considering they didn't stock 10% of their stuff they sell in their online store.

I think i'm going to head down today, looks like it's an hour+ from raleigh each way. How's this show compare to the Raleigh ones? I've heard it's pretty big.

The new TAG store should be happy to get LF's business. They are right next door to Hooters

I went but didn't buy a thing, didn't see a single midlength ar nor anything else I was looking for. Friendly & clean show but not as big as the raleigh shows.

The TAG store is top-notch. One of the nicer gear stores I've seen anywhere, tons of stuff in stock, and run by a stand-up bunch of guys.

Sounds good. I might have to check it out if I roll up there tomorrow.

As for the show, what was available as far as quantity/bulk ammo in 5.56?

Some Guatemalan .223, case was $250ish. I think 1200 case? Some Wolf and ADCOM .223. ADCOM was, ah, $125ish for 500 rounds?

I got the last case of SA .308 1260rnds for $225 out the door.

Oh, yeah, I actually saw one of the ammo dealers with several different versions of 6.8SPC ammo. More than one or two boxes. It was the most I've seen in one place since I even knew the 6.8 existed.

Of course I don't recall seeing any 6.8 uppers or rifles.....

It wasn't that great a show, especially for $7 entry fee. But iwas bored and hoped to find some ammo sooooo...... I went.

I had hoped to find a lightweight upper or at least a barrel but nothing came of it. I did see a super light weight bushy complete rifle for $800. Delton had two lightweight DPMS? uppers but they didn't strike me as that "light". Could just be me but the bushy barrel was much thinner.

I only go to buy ammunition.

Usually I drop $3-600 on ammo with the AmmunitionStore. I restocked on 9mm, .45 ACP, .40 S&W, and .22.

There was no 5.56mm except for the new Wolf "M193" and Remington. I was looking to get another 2K of Wolf 5.56mm 62gr. and had no joy.

However, this time the AmmunitonStore brought parts kits, etc.

I did find some Mk 262, some Ballistol, MagPul Gen II followers, MagPuls and saw some old friends. It was good to see Tony and Cassandra from Del-Ton, but I'm pretty much fixed in that regard.

The class III dealer set up on the far (right) wall. Price was around Cabela's (with shipping and all).

So it was you! You just made my list. Went saturday 1430 ish and saw they still had one, didn't have any cash. Went to ATM and by the time I got back (sunday 1100 or so) it was gone.

But no seriously at least it was someone here that got it. I'll just have to finally break down and order it.

On another topic, does anyone else noitice how this show is getting progressively smaller? Less and less guns, more and more knives and flea market type vendors. They had a fricking silverware/dishes dealer there for gosh sake! I give this show 6 months to a year before it dries up and blows away.

Oh yeah it was me, and almost exactly that time too. Actually there was two plus one or two packs left in an open case when I paid for mine. Moved truck to back door so I didn't have to lug the heavy thing up the hill out back, other case was gone when I walked in. Glad I talked myself into it and damn glad I moved the truck to take it out as it was way heavier than I remembered them being.

I agree, this show was full of junk and knife dealers. If they hadn't taken up so much space, it would have been even smaller. The lady selling the fudge & brownies took up a "section" of tables.

I'm afraid Fayetteville needs to cut back shows to see if the quality/quantity improves, otherwise I'm not paying $7 for that. Especially since the ammo shortage is raising your risk for walking out with nothing.

I picked up a Ruger MK III and K98 on Sunday.
