Just wondering what the cost and wait was in other counties. St. Charles is $10 and 7 days. The other pain is that it is only M-F to get a permit is the same all over MO?

Jefferson county, $10 but I got it within ten minutes. Don't know if that applies to everyone since they did enquire if I did still have my CCW permit.

Boone county is $10 and M-F also.

I think that the cost of the permit might be regulated by law. In St. Louis County, it's $10.00, I get to wait 7 days, and then I get notified via. snail mail that I can now drive to downtown Clayton, MO from the hours of 9am to 4 or 5pm M-F, take a number to stand in line and THEN receive my permit.

It seems to take longer than 7 days. Although I'm not sure how many.

Guess I should have mentioned that was 7 working days not counting the day you fill out the paperwork. I am waiting on one right now. Is it the 6th yet ? ? ? ?

Pettis County: Ten Dollars, Ten Minutes.

Don't know if you can get one on Sundays or not, never tried. Saturdays are OK though.

yup , 7 business days from the day you fill it out. And the new sheriff likes to make you wait the FULL 7 days With the old sheriff i usually got mine in less than 3 days!

Applied for and waiting for the current permit for a Sig P226. Never know, I may find something at the gunshow in Columbia next weekend.

Jackson County Sheriff, $10 7 week days.
8-5 Week days, No Saturday or Sunday pickup.

Christian County is $10 and usually 10-20 minutes.

Hours are M-F 9:00-4:00 .

Used to be 24 hours. The jail clerk would just run the check, take your money and off you would go.

We got a "modern" jail and court house about 3 years ago and all of the good service came to a screeching halt.

Sadly yes you have to pay the tax fee and fill out the registration form.

Do I have to register pistols I already own? I appreciate your help with this.

It's funny that it takes so long to get a pistol permit. I can get a Fm 4 signed and it never takes more than drop it off in the afternoon and pick it up the next morning. This is in the listed county above where you HAVE to wait 7 days?

Strange.

No only newly aquired pistols, anything you had when you moved here need not be registered a permit.

Thank you.

Morgan County = $10 and 3 days.

Permits=bullcrap!

It's a stupid waste of time, energy and resources. I don't need a local sheriff's permission to buy a gun. They already do a background check when you buy it.

Cole County~ $10 and a day or two. It depends on how busy the sherriff is I believe.

We just got a new sherriff though, hopefully it will be the same or better, he's supposedly a pro gun guy.

As soon as I save up enough money for that new XD in 45ACP, I'll find out.

Platte County= $10, and usually same day. Greene County= $10 and a week.

I agree that the pistol permit thing is complete total utter steaming BULLSHIT.
