I quit even walking in that store they were so rude.

I don't know how they stayed in business.

Same with me. Rude and a bit condescending.

Haven't been back in since.

A few years back I walked in their front door with a few k in cash that was burning a hole in my pocket. I begged the son to take my money and order a POF415. The son was extremely rude and refused to take the full payment to order the rifle because he had several Bushmasters on the wall.
Hoover TAC  happily took my money. Never went back and steered anyone who would listen to go somewhere else.

Did they still have the $200 transfer fee on suppressors?  I dealt with them in 06.  Never went back.   They acted like they had been forced to get a Class 3 license and were trying to discourage people from using them.   Bill Mcdonald was much more pleasant to deal with.

Both stores could dry up and blow away as far as my dollars are concerned.  I've had bad experiences in both places.  I hope someone teaches the art of customer service to the counter folks.

Absolutely right. Good riddance, as far as I'm concerned.

Ran into Mike at the grocery store a couple of months back. It had been years since I'd seen him. He's  a good guy. The kids, now that is a different story...

Yeah, I dunno why everyone drinks the haterade about BPW and SE Guns, Mike Davenport and Johnny Walker are both OK by me, TBH I've had worse experiences at Marks and Hoover Tac than SE or BPW, but not to the point where I get butthurt and swear them off.

I live close to both Shops. SE Guns seemed to have decent pricing but were ass hats of the highest order. Hated going there.  BPW is just down the street practically.  They are typically higher in pricing but are not openly hostile..but they are not paragons of Cust service either unless you are one of the "in" crowd. If one had to go, I'm glad its SE Guns.

I was a regular customer of SE Guns from '02 until I moved to Atlanta in '05, and can count on one hand the number of problems I had with Mike and his boys...and all of those problems were with the heavy one with the ponytail (Michael). The other son, Robin, was always great to deal with.

As a matter of fact, Michael pissed me off so bad one day over a rifle I wanted to order that I drove down the road to Plaza Gun and paid about 20% more to order the same damn gun just so I wouldn't have to deal with him again.

My impression of them is that they get a lot of tire-kickers and window shoppers, so they're not all that friendly until you show that you're actually serious about buying. I had bought a bunch from them, so Robin would call me when something good came in so I could swing by and take a look at it and/or buy it.

Guns and Alcohol are the two legally most risky things to sell.  But more people die in car accidents and the car dealers face NO legal risk.
