Southeastern Guns (S.E. Guns) in Trussville has a new owner.
Johnny Walker, owner of Birmingham Pistol Wholesale (BPW), purchased S.E. Guns on Monday. Former owners Mike and Debbie Davenport are retiring.
Walker, who has been in the firearms business since 1974 in the Birmingham area, has big plans for the future. Walker said he plans to keep both stores open for the time being.
Both stores are located on Hwy 11: S.E. Guns is in a strip mall with Enterprise Rent-A-Car by Vann Road; BPW is located about a half mile west of Deerfoot Parkway.
"We pride ourselves on offering great customer service and a family atmosphere," Walker said. "That will be the case at S.E. Guns as well."
Next year, Walker plans to consolidate the two locations into a new state-of-the-art wholesale/retail store and distribution center. He plans to build a new facility on five acres on Valley Road, just off I-59 in Trussville.
The new facility will also offer much more parking for customers and house BPW's huge online operation Gunprime.com. BPW offers over 14,000 firearms on Gunprime.com and another 1,500 on GunBroker.com.
S.E. Guns has been in business since 1985 and moved to Trussville is 2002.
