WJZ) Baltimore, Md. WJZ.COM has the latest on the police chase that ended in the Brooklyn section of Baltimore City Thursday afternoon.

Just moments ago, Sky Eye Chopper 13 Captain Mike Perry reported that Anne Arundel County police were pursuing the driver of a tan Acura legend after a traffic stop on Ritchie Highway. According to Captain Perry, an officer stopped the vehicle for a registration violation. The driver reportedly attempted to run over the officer, who later fired a shot at the vehicle.

Captain Mike Perry flew over the driver as he fled in his vehicle to the Brooklyn area of Baltimore City. The suspect eventually stopped the vehicle in a school yard and got out of it while the engine was still running. He later fled on foot through the backyards of residences.

An Anne Arundel County Police officer eventually captured the suspect and arrested him without incident.

Officers still remain at the scene of the schoolyard, where the vehicle remains. Captain Perry says three civilian accidents occurred on Ritchie Highway when the chase ensued.

More important than this was the story about MD wanting to reinstate the "assault weapons" ban. I will have more to say about this later. If anyone in this community votes for O'Malley and his choice for Lt. Gov...oh well.
