Id rather not go to MD.   I grew up in NJ,  have no desire to go back,  or live any were else on the east coast.  im quite happy in WA.

But its a good job, and only for a few months.  it should be 300+ hrs flying.  that will give me enough flying time to get a real job.

besides, if i do go to MD i'll get to meet all the fine Ar15.com maryland members.

Yeah 2000 a month should do you pretty well.  Just depends on how close you'll be to Ocean City the sand bar itself.

If its just for a few months,. you can handle that.

As far as what firearms you can bring here. MD is a class 3 state so you can bring pretty much everything. You will have a hard time buying firearms though since you are an out of state resident.

The job is at the Ocean City Muni Airport, which is actually in Berlin.  I would have to live relativly close to the airport.  Probably with in 20 minutes driving.

I thought Maryland had bad gun laws, like a state AWban and  ballistic fingerprinting.  I would want to bring my (postban) AR, my 12G pump shotgun and my pistols.

YEah we do have bad gun laws.

But for the most part its for people wanting to buy the guns, not bring them into the state.

There isnt really an assault weapons ban per se. But more of a "regulated firearms (AW)" You can still buy AK's,AR's,M16's H&K's but you need to purchase them and fill out the same paperwork as you would if you were buying a handgun.

Also, you need to watch a safety video for your first Regulate firearm purchase.

Seriously bring whatever you want. Full auto, Evil Black rifles and silencers are all kosher.

Yes, bring all the HighCaps your gonna need. Its going to be hard to find any if you need them, since they are not legal to buy or sell. But you CAN bring them in the state.

Also, I dotn tihnk there are many rifle ranges in that area. But if your up to the drive you can make some shoots on the western shore of MD. Hell, fly over and I can pick you up. I think the flight from OC to Baltimore are is only 15-20 minutes in a single prop plane.

BTW I love flying, so if you ever want someone to tag along in your solo flights let me know.

When i was working in TX this last winter i had  bad habbit of driving 3.5 hrs to have dinner with the DFW crew.  A hop across the bay should be easy.

Unfortunalty, i'll be working mostly on the weekends, so i'll miss most of the shoots.   And these days i only fly for money, which means no fun flights.  As much as i love to go up and screw around, i cant afford it.

I'm in a different part of the state, but I believe hunting is big on the eastern shore.  Ducks, geese, etc (whenever the season is).  Might be places to shoot skeet/trap/sporting clays.

Congrats on the job offer.
Once you get here we will try to get you to a range and have a good time. Just keep checking this forum for event updates and all that.
Too bad your getting here on the 11th and not earlier, a few of us will be heading to the range on the afternoon of the 11th. Who knows, maybe you could make it in time.

Hey Emu, check out this range.  I have a friend who shoots Hi Power Comps down there, claims it's a nice place.  Should be a short hop north from OC.

Bridgville Range

Welcome to MD.

The worse thing about the gun laws here is that during every single legislative session the socialists try to make the laws even worse.  There is little chance to ever make things better.  BTW don't even think about concealed carry permit.
