I just rode it on my bike from Duluth to Thompson and back this afternoon. 29 miles! This trail is pretty cool, lots of nice scenery and overlooks along the way. If the weather is nice I'm going to hike up to Ely's Peak (just off the Munger trail, part of the Superior Hiking Trail) next weekend.

No pictures this time unfortunatly.

An Ely's peak experience is incomplete without a cigar to enjoy at the top. I really need to go back soon-it's been too long.

Hell yeah, maybe I'll bring my cigars next weekend. I'll be honest, I didn't even know where Ely's Peak was until today and I live in Superior.

I was at Wolf Rock on the SHT last weekend, it was pretty nice, well...except for the knee deep snow on the trail.

excellent cross country skiing around Ely peak also. i lived in Duluth for a # of years, and that was my favorite place for CCskiing. always wanted to hike it in the warmer months, but never got to it. i did to a little rapelling at the train tunnel (off of Beck's Rd). the "free" drop over the opening is quite fun.
