I was a Naval Aviation Ordnanceman (Aircrew/Airwarfare)
"If You Aint Ordnance You Aint Shit" That was our motto
I don't know who to really explain it, its like a Brotherhood of Redshirts.
ON the Flightdeck, flightline or being a Aircrewman we always wore Red Jerseys
Fuelers wore purple they were a  pain in the ass for us when a Tomcat would land.
No one wanted to arm a fully fueled Tomcat,
and They didn't want to fuel a fully "armed" one.
When I was with a Sea Stallion (helicopters)
squadron I always wore the red jersey under the flight suit.
We used to have another saying:
Without Ordnanceman, its just another unscheduled flight
