The cemetery I work at is just a bit north of the airport in MPLS, and several times I've seen pairs of two F-16 fighters flying pretty low (about 500 to 1000 feet) and fast heading towards northern Minnesota. This happens pretty often too.

I'm just getting confused by it sometimes.

Don't worry about it and enjoy the show.

You can just BET it's not terrorists or drug dealers, so it's cool.

The local airport in my area hosts a company that is providing flight training services to the Dutch Air Force under contract, with F16's. The Dutch bring their own F16's and the company actually owns its own fleet of F16's and other tactical aircraft, too, so there's some variety in the training scenarios.

I love it. What the hell's that awful roar? It's the F16's, and give me more!

I am pretty sure that the MN Air Guard has F16's stationed in Duluth, and again I am pretty sure that the North Dakota Air Guard has F16's, stationed in Fargo.

Could be a training mission?

Just like NorWorst uses Hector Airport in Fargo to shoot touch and goes with passenger aircraft. Sort of spooky to see them skimming above the dorms at the Cow College (NDSU) sits south of the main runway. A couple weeks ago I was up in Fargo and NWA was shooting touch and goes with their new Airbus!

Every time I fly into MPLS there is a shit ton, of C130's on the runway.

the 148th fighter wing (i think that's right?) is stationed in duluth.

if you think the F-16's are loud, you should have heard the F4 Phantoms they used to use up here.

I thought since 9-11 they had F-16's on station here in MSP. They may have moved them out, but there was at least four of them here for quite awhile. The C-130's have pretty much all gone bye-bye for awhile as they have been deployed overseas for a couple months as of yesterday.

I lived on a F-16 base in Hahn Germany in late 80's and you should here them take off on full afterburner during exercises. The F-111 flying NOP(nap of the earth)doing mock bomb run at tree top level is ungodly scary because you don't here them until pass over. :)

Thanks for reminding about the show in duluth, I forgot... Only going because I miss the sensation of the bone shaking afterburner's :) Oh it's a good time as well... lol Hopefully if it doesn't rain.
