I had a great time guys, Thanks to all who brought some food. I realize now that we had to much food, and im no cook. Next time(Hopfully soon) I will be better prepared and have a better Idea of the food situation.
Guys I have shot with lots of people, some even supposed "Pros" and I have never seen such good gunhandling and muzzle awarness ever. The group was more then willing to show anyone anything, help them with a problem, let them shoot up all the .50 or blast a mag out of a class 3. Big thank you to Stump, KY Bob, and Knob creek Gun range, without these people I dont think it would have been such a hit. Thanks for the pics guys, I would love to see more if anyone has some, and I saw the vedio cam going ........can we see the vid maybe on you tube or something? |

Id just like to thank everybody who let me shoot their guns and an extra one to Stump for arranging things. Looks like we had a pretty good turn out.

I had a great time today. The weather turned out fine and the mud was manageable. If you missed this one you lost out big time. Everyone was very safe and great to talk with.
Thank you everyone who made this a memorable day! Bob |

RIP Wayne, you are missed.

It was nice meeting all of you that I met. There's few things quite as enjoyable as
shooting and meeting good folk while you do it. Not only could we have invaded and overrun a small African nation, we could have fed it as well. My thanks to the organizers and the Tannerite providers. We need to do this again. I think we could have made a convertible out of that van. Tannerite is bad. Now I have the urge to blow up more things. |

Major thanks to all , so glad so many folks were able to make it out today. I had a great time meeting you guys and seeing some truely impressive hardware all day. This was my first time being involved with one of these types of shoots, and I must say I was completely impressed, everyone was great!
Getting moved up to the main range worked out really well for us, and the weather thankfully cooperated. Even the mud wasn't as bas as I was anticipating, or at least not as deep. Special thanks to Ky_Bob for helping out on the planning and running of this, that was a major help, thank you. I also have to say, Kenny of KCR did us good on the target vehicle, better than I had even anticipated. I didn't know what to think when he came barreling and slopping through the mud in that white van out to us down range, lol, that was a pleasant surprise. I hope you guys will want to do this again maybe around late Spring time possibly. I learned a very valuable lesson today: Guns, explosives, a white van down range with the motor running, grillin' and good people make for a fun Saturday. PS: Dracster, man I am so glad you got some pics of that van at the end like that. I didn't get to see up close what that last shot (6 in 1 charge) of tannerite did to that poor van's A pillar. Holy crap!!! That did the trick! |

A hearty THANK YOU to Ky_Bob and "Jeff's friend" for letting me shoot your weapons. Man, I'd forgotten what burned gunpowder smells like! My BRD is firmly established now and I'll have to resolve this problem soon. Thank you once again to all the KY ARFCOMers for putting this on and your hospitality.
BTW...that .50 cal rifle put a hurt on me each time it was fired! I love the 2nd Amendment |

Hate I missed this, had something come up, I'm up for another shoot in the spring.

Thanks for posting the pics guys. I took my camera and forgot to even get it out. It was great to meet some fellow ARFCOM folks and be able to put a face with the names. Thanks to our Fearless Leader, Stump, for putting this together. Hope we get to do it again on a drier, warmer day sometime.

Looks like there was a great time to be had. I hope my schedule allows for em to make the next one.
The van looks like a casualty from our Contractor class. Good job! |

Good pictures guys! Funny thing though: I don't remember slapping the sleeper hold on anybody...still, kind of looks that way in one of the pictures Stump took.
A BIG thank you to Stump and all the others that made this possible. It'd be fun to do again sometime. It was a pleasure to meet and shoot with all of you, especially Gary (Jeep29,I think). I've never shot next to a more considerate .50 shooter. Those things are pretty brutal, especially under a metal roof. I certainly don't mind them, but the wife only had ear plugs, and not ear muffs, so she appreciated the fair warning he gave before touching of a round. My wife isn't exactly into the whole shooting thing, but by the time we left, she was asking to shoot the M16. I let her, and as long as she could shoot it from the bipod, she really enjoyed it. Thanks again to all who organized the event, and thanks for allowing me to be the token Hoosier. |

It was my pleasure. Sorry it took me a few rounds to think about it though. And a big thanks for the trigger time on your M-16. I LOVED that rate of fire. I'm seriously thinking of a slow fire conversion for the MAC now. Of course, I've been talking about an Uzi mag conversion fo 2 years now too.

I had a tremendous time. Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome.
Lessons learned, Those double ended earplugs suck. You either put them in comfortable and they barely work or you shove them in deep and endure the pain and risk hitting important ear parts. Ear muffs are the only way to go at the range. Tannerite is AMAZING. Don't be a smart ass by trying to catch an ejected casing. Even if they are continuously hitting you in the head. They are hot and will roast your palm. Don't think that you like an AK until you shoot an AR. Don't believe the slobs that tell you not to meet up with people you meet on the net. I was treated nicer by complete strangers than by most people I've known for years. Those were just the highlights. I increased my knowledge of firearms 10 fold. If you are new to the sport just get out there. You'll be glad you did. Also, your neighbors will think you're crazy if they come over and see you cleaning your new assult rifle. |

My friends in Ohio are wanting to come down for a shoot either February 3rd or the 10th. I am using our shoot as a model for setting up theirs at Knob Creek. Now that Stump has redeemed the name of AR15.com with Kenny (nothing to do with Stump, just ancient history) we can do this all the time.

Sweet. Thanks for the heads up, Bob, I'm in.

I am in--PS..The van is still out there as of Thursday... I was having some problems with the AR on that outing and I may need some help on it. I am not that technical on the gunsmith side. I am not sure if it's a gas issue or short stroke.... Either way, count me in.

Great pics guys, as an Ohioan that will be making the trip on Feb. 3rd, I look forward to meeting you guys and shooting on your home turf again!!
Hopefully we make these "invasions" a tradition - Bob can tell you we Buckeyes know how to throw a good shoot, too! |

I'd like to get in on this if you do it in the Spring. I need plenty of time in advance to plan for it so if anyone has any dates...
|
|
|
There will most definately be another shoot this spring or summer. KY_Bob just organized an Ohio/Indiana/KY shoot last weekend, and the response to that shoot has been absolutely wonderful, it was a lot bigger than our KY shoot back in October even.
So just hang tight and keep checking back, come Spring or so I'm sure some information will come up on the next shoot, and there will be plenty of time to plan and get prepared. Meanwhile, check out the pics from this past weekend's shoot: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=12&t=257438 |

Count me in on the next one!
Sorry I missed this one. Looks like a good time was had by all! |
|
|
The soonest I could sponsor another one would be sometime after the 4th of July. Someone else will need to do a spring shoot. Although I could liaison with Kenny if that helps.
