Any info on traveling with a pistol in a travel trailer? I have to go to CT and hate the idea of being unprotected with my wife and baby.

If transported entirely in the camper could I be searched?

Of course you could be searched! This America

Would you be doing things that may be suspicious in your travels that might lead to a search?

Is it worth it to you? Only you know the answer

When are you coming? You could apply for an out of state permit.

if you were to use that hand gun in any self defense act,  that being a minor act or major act you will most definitely get hammered for having the handgun here in the first place.

apply for the out of state permit or leave it at home

Sadly, this. The CT legislature would rather you die than be protected.

If it's going to stay in the trailer - bring a shotgun instead

Shotcards can be kept loaded off the gun.

Keep it unloaded when traveling then load when you stop to camp.

I travel with a 20in take-down 12ga.
