When are you coming? You could apply for an out of state permit.

If you don't have a CT pistol permit then don't bring any firearm with a barrel less than 12" - they are all lumped into "pistol" even if they are an AOW, SBS or SBR.
To simply put things, if you want to bring a firearm you can bring a pump/lever shotgun, or pump/lever rifle. To be less simple, you could also bring an aids cannon (think 12g non-shotgun, or an AR pistol w/ +12" barrel that's not on the banned by name list) No mags w/ capacity over 10rnds. No loaded long guns in vehicles. Don't be stupid, and don't consent to searches

Shotcards can be kept loaded off the gun.
Keep it unloaded when traveling then load when you stop to camp. I travel with a 20in take-down 12ga. |
