I am in the U.S. Coast Guard and I am going to be stationed in Newport.  I will be heading out on Fri.  Anything I should know ahead of time?  It looks like a nice state and a welcome change.  So please fill me in on any and all good info. Such as, Pubs, ranges, good places to eat, etc.  Thanks.

Tim,
Thank you for your reply.  If I am in port on the 23rd I will come out.  The guns I have/bringing with me: S&W 686 4" 357, Ruger Vequero 44, Kimber TLEII and a S&A 1911A1 G.I. Milspec.  Thanks again for your reply and the invite!

V/R

Jeff

Welcome to RI, Newport is great especially summer. Christie's is the place to eat and hang out on dock in summer, as far as ranges still looking myself.

There is nothing finer than a summer day in Newport.

Nothing hotter than the chicks in Newport on a summer night.

One thing you'll find is the nightclubs are expensive and they close early (1 AM). Thames St. at 1 AM looks like Mardi Gras.
