Virginia Gun Collectors Assoc. It's at the Manassas fairgrounds. Hugo show moved, small but with the lack of shows I think it's worth going to. YMMV.10624 Dunfries Road MANASSAS VA. 20112 OFF RT. 234

I went last year, I thought it was ok, Trader Jerry was there. There were mostly collector type dealers there, but there was some interesting stuff to look at if nothing else. I might go this weekend.

I have a question about va gun shows. I am looking to buy a handgun. If I buy one at a public gun show do I still have to do the 7 day wait?

What 7 day wait?

I thought virginia had a mandatory waiting period after the sale of a handgun.

No, you just cannot buy two within 30 days unless you have a VA CHP.

The state does not have a waiting period. Some jurisdictions used to have a waiting period, but those laws were preempted by state law a few years back. If you're a new Virginia resident just make sure you've had your primary ID for at least 30 days or it won't be valid for a firearm sale. MJD

Well I live in staunton and I am really hoping to pick up an Springfield 5" XD40 before April 1 and if I go to the show I was afraid of the waiting period.

You know what, I jacked this thread by accident. I'm sorry Voodo

I bought a Bulgarian Makarov from Trader Jerry last year. He's a heck of nice guy. One of the few people at a gunshow I've BS'ed with after the purchase was made.

Anyone know if Robb is working this weekend? I might stop by VA Arms and see if he can install a short trigger on my 229. Hopefully they will have some in stock.

If not, get Jimmy to do it. He did an awesome job on my 226ST.

Well that show officially sucked. Nothing there worth buying really. Trader Jerry did have alot of pistols there. But most everything else there wasnt really interesting at all. Did not have a chance to go by VA Arms. Have to get by there one of these days.

We don't have any 229 short triggers in stock but can order you one, call Bernie on Monday if you want him to get you one.

Quick question. Are the gunshows at the Dulles Expo center any good? And is Georgia Arms ever there? I need to get some more ammo from them but not right now. So far the gunshows I have been to have been less than great. I actually feel ripped off when i leave having to pay 6 bucks to see abunch of crap that has no business at a gunshow. Sorry had to vent.

Yes, the chantilly shows are usually pretty good. I have seen GA Arms there a few times. Personally, I find the prices to be "inflated" at the Chantilly shows. I think they know that people in that area are generally pretty well-off and adjust prices accordingly. The Showplace shows in Richmond are usually a bit cheaper for the same items. I miss the Hugo's shows. MJD

Received a post card from Old Dominion Shows with new dates for Bealton Shows on 04/15-16/06 and 08/12-13/06. However, there is no location on the card or their web site but heard it will be a new location not Hugos.
