I was wondering if the Quantico shooting club allows steel targets on any of the rifle ranges?  If not, how does the target pulling etc...work on the ranges?

THanks,

Zach

Qstick,

Sorry, no steel targets on any of the ranges.  The club has target stands, uprights and cardboard backers for Range 1 (you need to suppy the paper targets).  The known distances are 50, 100 and 300 yards/meters.  On Range 1 we fire from the shoot house and you post your targets at whatever distance you want.

For Range 4 they use the standard target backers but no one runs the pitts.  The firing line is initially set based on a consensus of the the shooters and moves back (up to 1000 yards) as the day progresses.

Pistol ranges are run similar to Range 1 with shooters at the 15 yd line and posting targets at desired distance from there.

Hope this helps.
