I have a few questions:

Are there any good 100+ yard outdoor ranges in NoVA?

Do I need to be a resident for (how many?) days before I can make firearms purchases?

What are the laws governing private party sales?

TIA for your answers.

Clark Brothers, Warrenton.

Private party sales are pretty much unlimited in non-Class III items.

I believe you have to be domiciled for 90 days in order to be considered a resident, though I could be wrong on this.

Clark Bros is outdoors, they have some issues though, but they are the only 100yd range that is public. IWLA has an outdoor range but you have to be a member. Fairfax Rod and Gun too.

See this thread if you want too join a club with a 200 yard range.

To buy from a dealer they want your ID to have been issued 30 days prior, here is a link to state code:

Private sales are legal if they don't violate federal law and local ordinances.

Thanks for the information. I am likely to come to the shoot in October if I can work out all the logistics (and decide what I am going to shoot).
