I'm considering getting a Serbu BFG-50 but don't know of anyplace to shoot it.  I would be willing to travel a few hours away from NoVA.

Anybody know of a place - public or private?

Thanks,
Jeff

Sleepy Creek DNR range in WVA a few miles north of Winchester off 81.

Only up to 200 yards though :/

I shoot my AR50 at Hite Hollow below Staunton VA.  150 yards is the max distance.

Quantico has a 300 yard range but as of last year, no 50BMG.  Plus you have to be in their shooting club.

150-300 yds doesn't seem worth it to own a .50bmg.  Yea the first place I checked out was Quantico and their website still says no .50.

I hear ya motopix..i've thought about a .50 now and then but it seems like 500 yds would be minimum, heck maybe more like 1000 yds min.

Forget the group purchase of ammo...let's do a group purchase of lots of land!!!

Yea, ok, that's not gonna happen.

Now, what to do with the 2k I was gonna spend on the .50?  Oooo, plus the scope and ammo, let's call it 3k.  Not that I have the money...

Hell, buy it anyway.  Sure is a BLAST when you fire it and sure puts a hurt on what you hit.

Especially at 150-300 yards I'm sure.

OK, you've convinced me.

No .50 bmg at the NRA, it's bad enough in there when people are shooting their FALs rapid fire.  Krikey, the blast from a .50 would make children weep and weaker men faint.

Or perhaps you were joking...
