Who's gun and barrel is it? Horror stories eh?
Head spacing is done at the factory when the extension is mated to the barrel. Exactly what would you do to remedy the situation if it were out of spec? And would you even know if it were out of spec? If it were a vintage bolt action, then perhaps I'd check it. Right now, I'd just go shoot it. |

Come to my shoot in September and test fire the gun; i have a friend that can bring headspace gauges if needed.

I've thought about this some aswell when I thought of putting an upper together but now I run a few DD factory uppers & also have a few BCM factory uppers which use factory BCG & they have run without a hiccup with steel & brass.
Quality parts put together correctly should run fine , my understanding. I'm new though & learning. |
