I'm probaby moving to Illinois for a short time to work on an advanced degree (I'm not a college kid - I'm 34). U of I Champaign-Urbana is where I'm headed, for 2 years at the most to get a PhD.

Are these firearms OK?

1) Glock 23 (13 round mags)
2) Postban Bushy (20" A2), with many 30 round mags
3) Yugo SKS

Also, do apply for a FOID before or after I move there? Again, this is a temporary move, 2 years max.

Great school, crappy politics.    It is a never ending fight for our 2ND .     Apply  ASAP for FOID, ....I know it sucks, but be Legal.

On the bright side, you're dead center in Champaign County Rifle Association territory--as good a group as we have in this state.

Get your FOID papers in plenty early,  8-10 week lead time is not uncommon these days.
