My card is expiring in a few months and the recent processing backlog has caught my interest...wouldn't want to become a criminal and all that :-)....
When the card is renewed, is it for 5 years from the issue date or is it 5 years from the expiration of my current card? I think it's the former since it would explain my expiration date moving from July to May 5 years ago...but it didn't strike me as to why until today. BTW, todays Tribune is calling for increased FOID card fees

After looking at my last three, I would have to say from date of issue, as none of them pick-up where the last left off.

Yep, clock starts all over again.
If it looks like the fees are going to go up. "lose" the current and reup. |
