This whipped up FAST. Couple homes already lost, and they're scrambling to get equipment in place to defend Gold Hill. They've already had to move their staging area once.

Crap!, I'm listening right now and they are evacuating the town of Eldora. Prayers for anybody up there. Also they need LOTS of horse trailers.

ETA update.

Stay safe CO ARFCOM'ers! The CA guys know from experience how big, fast, and utterly devastating this stuff can become. Prayers and crossed-fingers for CO.

Did your friend find out if lefthand is burnt up too or is it just smoky?

I'm up for helping anyone bugout as well. I've got a 4x4 Durango with plenty of room. Anyone else done any volunteering up there?? Just curious.

Things are calming down. When the city officials posted their "the west side of town should be ready to evacuate" notice, things were . . . well, people were stirred up a bit. Right now the evac zone seem stable.

Just smokey...he is still not able to get to his house, stayed here the last few nights. The house 200 yards up valley burnt.

Hope your friend didn't lose anything too precious in the fire. Hope everyone else in the area got out safe as well.
