She lives in Aurora, so Cherry Creek or Firing Line would be close.

Does anyone know if either place offers Basic Handgun for Women?

She called me this afternoon and she's in a situation where she feels she needs a pistol for personal protection.  As I live in TX, I can't be there to teach her the basics and before I send (or buy) her a pistol, I'd like for her to get some training.

Thanks for your input.

I have taken classes with this guy. He is the "chief" instructor of our club instructors. FWIW I am an NRA cert. instructor, and this guy does a good job (I'm way down South and he is up North near your kid).

I believe the Boulder Rifle Club has women's basic handgun classes.  If you check out the CO EE ads, Captain Prozack runs some of the pistol shoots in Boulder.

Do they let folks in Boulder own firearms?

IF (big if) K2 in Lakewood is still in business when she shows up, and IF (bigger if) Heather is still teaching, then they're pretty good.

However, she may be gone. If so, I wouldn't go anywhere near their classes.

Rich Wyatt from Gunsmoke in Wheat Ridge is also pretty good, but pricey. To get the most from his class,  it helps to tune out the politics. (If you've ever been to Gunsite, it's the same Rich Wyatt.)

Ahh....George Wright....check out the Ben Lomond Gun Club...it is south and east of Aurora east of Elizabeth.  http://www.blgc.org/...click on the training bar at the left.  Note the classess for women only.

All I hear is good stuff about this range facilities and instructors.  I am planning on joining...once I land that illusive well paying  job.
