I've had my baby since 1980 and it just came out of my shop after being apart for a number of years.

Awesome.  Congrats on getting it out.

I had a 77 FJ40 that I owned from 1989 to 2005.   Drove and wheeled the hell out of it.

I told myself I wouldn't go back to LCR until I could drive it. That was in 2009...

Very nice

Years back a friend of mine had one behind his dad's house. It had been sitting for years but otherwise was in good shape. Nobody knew it was back there. Ran into him one time and offered to buy it, he said he would have sold it to me, but they had a small house fire that involved the FD showing up.. Some fireman saw it and showed up at their place days later with a trailer and offered cash

Looks great, I had a green and white 73 FJ55. Someday I'd like to own another.

Awesome FJ...I spent the day ripping out the rear suspension of my '45.  The PO did some wonky stuff that is going to take me awhile to correct.  Still have to get a frozen spring pin out that isn't budging after 51yrs.

I get strangely aroused when around 45's. I had a '50 Willy's pickup in '78 that I would kill for now.

I drove a new 40 in 1979 at the dealer in Ontario, OR then bought this one in La Grande.  I was outside tossing a training dummy for my new choco lab pup this morning and some guy who'd been watching me work on it all summer stopped by to see if it was for sale. My estate might sell it, but I won't. Kids might get a little thin but we'll have a ride.

What engine and trans are you running Zabbu?

Gen 1 SBC 4 bolt 350 currently with a mild RV cam, stock trans and tcase. I made the swap from the 2F back in the mid '80's using an AA adapter bell housing. If I were to get do-overs, I'd leave it a 6. No regrets but it was definitely the wrong thing to do to it. Although, the first SBC I had was a 327 with a 30-30 mechanical cam.  Leaping landcruisers....
