AG Ferguson apparently thinks that it would be a good idea for CPL records to be public information.

I wonder how and why the AG would think that it would be a good idea to release information that could only lead to more break-ins and attempted thefts of firearms from homes and vehicles alike?

Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson is conducting a legal review of whether the private, personal information of Washington’s Concealed Pistol License holders is subject to public disclosure under the state’s Public Records Act.

...

Currently, Washington’s Public Records Act (PRA) and carry licensing law exempts from public disclosure all concealed pistol license applications and the information on applications, except as needed by law enforcement or corrections.  The legislative intent of this exemption, along with other constitutional privacy concerns, mandates that CPL licenses should be protected in the same manner as applications since they also contain personally identifying information such as names and addresses.

Why not review the non-release of the same information for drivers licenses?

If you follow the link to the NRA page and then the link to the AG's page, you'll see that the AG's office is actually conducting a review in response to a request from the DOL.  It sounds like the wording in the public disclosure law exempting CPL's may have a problem, which the NRA is attempting to resolve.
