Coho should be running just by Edmonds, WA right now. Pinks on the Snohomish R are drying up, but there are a few left to be caught... Coho should be hitting the Snohomish R as well about now or in the next week or so, but they'll be catch and release iirc, check the rules. Lots of shore fishing opportunity here just driving up there and you dont need anything too fancy for gear.
OR are you talking charter? Boat or shore fishing?
ETA: Unless you have people here to take you out, I'd recommend doing a charter if you can get one. They'll provide gear, a nice boat to fish off of, and more knowledge than you'd ever hope to get on your own.
ETA2: If you just want to see what's going on, this is a decent resource, won't be all encompassing by any means, but should give you an idea.
