Glulam beams and trusses go up tomorrow.  With any luck, roof should be covered with plywood this weekend.  Then I have to decide on how many skylights are going in.  After that, shingles go on and the gutter and downspouts get installed.

With any luck we'll be done soon and I can work on getting the hot tub installed.

Maybe he was referring to the 16d sticking up out of the board on top of the pallet.

Any more progress?

We have pretty much completed our deck project.

It's a work in progress.  The original idea has changed several times since its inception.

The roofing is complete.

We are working on shear walls, railings and the ceiling now.

Will take some more pictures as I have time.

Shear walls added today.  They will be covered in cedar siding to match the house.  One more half shear wall will be added.  It will go to the small 4x4 that is sticking up out of the deck.  Can't put that in place until the hot tub is moved onto the deck.

The ceiling was also installed today.  The seams will be covered with 1x2's to hide them.  The ceiling will be painted as well as the interior walls.

Gable ends will be covered in OSB and cedar to match the house.

Then the deck gets stained.

Gutter guy will be making me a gutter to match the rest of the house.

Almost there...

Fuckin' awesome.  It's really comin' together now.

You ever get that "splatter" issue taken care of, between the house and the deck roof?

Not yet.  Hasn't really rained since then.  I'm either gonna have the gutter guy put a gutter there or flash the overhang to just miss the gutter.  That will make the rain hit the roof first and drain into the existing gutter.

That was my thought.  As it is now, the rain drains right into the existing gutter and creates a splash.  I figured some flashing would extend the roof edge enough to keep it from doing that.  Thanks for the reinforcement.

Siding installed and painted.

Deck stained.

Still need to move the hot tub up onto the deck, install the last wall, a gutter and downspouts and the tops of the railings.

Once that's done, all that's left is trim around the ceiling and walls and electrical.

I can't wait to be DONE!

Fill it first.  Have Vini help you move it.  I'll supervise.

PCR needs one of those! That's quite a deck. It should serve you well.

Did you wire for lights?

I won't bust your balls for the cut post because I know that's gonna be fixed most ricky tic. I am curious about the gable siding though.

I'm gonna run lights around the perimeter once the hot tub wiring is installed.    I'll be utilizing the 110 circuit that comes out of the hot tubs GFCI to accomplish that.  Any other electrical, like the TV and Stereo will be done through conduit under the deck.

The post isn't cut, it hasn't been installed yet.  That's just a filler to keep the dogs from falling in the hole.  Once the hot tub is on the deck there will be a post there.  From the post will be a wall that connects to the one on the right of it.

The guy who did the siding hasn't done it for many years.  He's going to cut the siding at the top of the gable and install the trim piece that should have been installed first.

His words, if I screw it up, I'll make it right.

Apparently, we can add impatience to my list of shortcomings. It shows up fine now, and agreed, your phone isn't much of a camera.

Glad I missed moving your hot-ub

Add?

You were warned about the pic.

That's ok, we'll move the hot tub together, eventually.
