DPMS rifles?

Anyone own one?

Anyone shot one?

I found a smoking deal on an M-4 but I'm not really familiar with DPMS/Panther Arms.

I have two DPMS lowers I am building rifles on now Mike. I have never heard anything bad about them and they seem to be popular for what it's worth.

If you do a search in the AR15 forum you'll find that DPMS has about a 3 to 1 ratio of pro DPMS posts.

I did do a search.  I prefer to take advice though from people that I have actually met.  I feel strongly about things like that.  Especially when it comes to weapons.

I was actually F-Fing an SnS at the WAC.  It was kinda cool with a marking on it.  Was a pretty good deal too.

Ive had serveral opertunities to shoot DPMS putting hundreds of rounds through a friends rifle...Jammed once but I think it was a weak cartridge wolf ammo.  Nice looking rifle, didnt care much for the bolt carrier as it seemed alittle light.....over all and considering the money....it kicked ass.....I wouldnt have a problem buying/owning one.

Sometimes when there's a smoking deal, there's fire,

The difference between $650 for a deal and 800 for a Bushmaster (on EE), it might be worth it to spend the extra cash now, rather than later. The old adage has always proven true for me, you never regret buying the best you can afford. Good luck with your search. Post pics of your choice!

The fit and finish is poor, when you put a upper on the DPMS lower you have to file the rear pin hole to make it fit, the hole is out of spec, finish is poor, material is soft it is not 7075T6, Dropship has horror stories that never end with his DPMS both lower and upper and bolt carrier and on and on.

I have always wanted a DPMS.  I have owned both Oly and Bushmaster and have been happy with both.

The only problem I have ever had with an AR15 type rifle has been with DPMS, I second the fit as poor with the upper to lower fit ( my rifle was all DPMS factory) and I broke a bolt....Yup...Broke the bolt.

The only thing I will buy from DPMS now is their Fire Control Gourp kits...They are outstanding, I have never had one that I did not like.

I'd buy a DPMS, even a cast lower, before I'd give one cent to that lying (among other things)reseller in Snohomish who overcharges for what a real manufacturer makes for him and puts his companys name on.
