"Ireland forever"

If'n ya know where I live, or I've ever invited you over before.  Come on by and be Irish for the day with real Irish people.  Lemme know via IM if you can make it.  I'll provide some basic meats for the grill, bring your own drink and if you want to bring some chips or PO-TA-TO salad thats cool too.

as long as a supply of Jameson holds out I'll only be Irish every-other-day, need time to recover.

I'll be present with an array of various social beverages and the wife could probably make sunthin' too...

I just can't forget to bring lawn chairs and wood this time.

That's it!
I was going to get the good Bushmills for the SCR, the Single Malt 10 year, but ya had to go and get pissy didn't ya?

Got a microwave recipe for it?

I'd ask about a crockpot recipe but I don't have all night.

If I can't cook it in on a BBQ(which I don't have) or in a microwave or crockpot do I really need to be making it?

You aren't going to imply that I need to use my duracoat curing box, you know that thing in the kitchen that has the round things on top that get hot if you fiddle with the knobs, for food are you?

Matt, I'd appreciate a soda bread reciepe, please.
My Irish comes from Grandpa and he didn't do such "women's work ". My German Grandma didn't pass on Irish reciepes.

Irish Soda Bread
Recipe courtesy Brother Rick Curry, The Secrets of Jesuit Breadmaking, HaperPerennial, 1995

Ingredients
5 cups sifted all-purpose unbleached flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 pound (1 stick) butter
2 1/2 cups mixed light and dark raisins, soaked in water for 15 to 20 minutes and drained
3 tablespoons caraway seeds
2 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 large egg, slightly beaten

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Generously butter 2 (9 by 5-inch)
bread pans.

Stir together the sifted flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut in the butter and
mix very thoroughly with your hands until it gets grainy. Stir in raisins and caraway seeds.

Add the buttermilk and egg to the flour mixture. Stir until well moistened. Shape dough into 2
loaves and place in the pans.

Bake for 1 hour. Test with a toothpick for doneness. Cool in the pans for 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer
to a wire rack to cool.

Slaincha! (Slawn-Cha, or To your Health!)

A tip from my wife is to heat the caraway seeds in the oven before mixing them in, the heat releases the oils in the seed, and spreads the flavor around a bit.
