LEWIS COUNTY - Four people died in a one-car wreck on snow-covered Washington 6 between Pe Ell and Frances, the Washington State Patrol reported early Thursday.
The driver, William Albert Dubois, 69, of Raymond, and passengers Cathy Barnum, 62, of Raymond, and Tammie Barnum-Sands, 34, of South Bend, were found dead in a Cadillac Eldorado shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday. Moriah Sands, 6, of South Bend, was pronounced dead after being taken to Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend, according to a patrol statement.
A passing motorist reported a car off the road, and troopers found the Cadillac overturned with the passenger compartment fully submerged in standing water.
The Cadillac was westbound about two miles west of the Lewis-Pacific county line and 85 miles southwest of Seattle when it went off the slush- and snow-covered rural two-lane road, overturning several times as it tumbled down a 60- to 70-foot embankment, according to the patrol statement
