WE have a
state bird
state flower
state song

So what is the Washington state rifle and should there be a washington state side arm as well and ofcourse a Washington state knife.

My pick would be
M-21
1911stainless steel
Rex Applegate W.E.Fairbairn folder

If you want an M14 variant to be the WA State rifle, I'd change that wooden stock to a synthetic one.

Strat, you are going to have the liberals pissing their pants if you keep going to the store dressed like that.

I would hate to have to lug around a full size M1a on the wet side of the state when a FAL carbine would be easier to lug, and do the same job, But I will be going with the LRB M14SA myself in the very near future.

As for a Sidearm, I like the traditional 1911 type pistols, but may find myself going with the XD45

and to be honest, I go through lots of pocket knives every year, so anything that is durable works for me.

Not a Boguszewski spike?

I hate to say it, but I'm going to go with the AK-47. It will hold up to the wetness and mud here on this side of the Cascades, the cold in mountains and East side as well as the desert dust of E. Wa.

Of course, after we liberate Tweak, we can switch back to the AR and he can keep 'em running.

Sidearm: Glock 21 for the above reasons.

Knife: Anything sturdy, well balanced and just feels good in the hand. I'm not a fan of folders.

I've vote for the SKS or the FAL.
Second the XD sidearm.
Third a CRKT M16 folder.

I'd love to see a Stainless M1A with a Synthetic Stock as the WA State Rifle

+1 to the Stainless 1911

I'd like to see a Buck 110 or 119 as the WA State Knife.

Is this before the next Garand, the ACOG and the FAL?

It will be the next Longarm (Income tax return), the Garands, I could just roll change for if I wanted to right now. The ACOG should be when I find a good deal.

For the most part I agree, except that an M14 or FAL can handle anything our weather can dish out.

No shotgun?

Sadly, I'm not personally familiar enough with either of those two fine weapons to know. Hopefully one day I can rectify that situation.

I'd have to go with my knock off m14, 1911 and the knife shouldn't be a folder IMO. Maybe something custom.

Since much of the terrain in this state is either very steep, very rough or urban and the weather on the west side is very wet something thats light, handy and fairly immune to water would be in order. In that vein Id pick an M4 and Glock 19/17. The knife would be a Glock or Ontario AF survival.

Wood is aesthetically pleasing for sure, but in the wet of western WA, a synthetic stock will outperform it.

Folding knife would be a Benchmade. Probably the 710 HS.

Sidearm would be USP Tactical .45 ACP.

For a fixed blade knife, I'd say the Cold Steel Outdoorsman.
