Nov 1 or 2?
Wherabouts? And none of this, "On the porch where they sit" business, we learned our lesson last year.
2nd.. I recommend the 2nd so we can get the Sunday only folks to come out.
ROFLMAO.....Sunday FOLK.....
I know others work Saturday, but I dont htink anyone else whines like I do about it on Saturday. In my defense, I DO show on Sundays though! TY P-I-S...(That didnt look right, I will type out Phil next time!) |
That's why I said folks and not so CavVet can come out and play. Besides there's a WAC show in Puyallup that weekend too. |
I'll go with Sunday too, just because I'm such a nice guy. Where are we going to puncture pumpkins? We can meet up at the WAC show and head over to capital forrest. Or is there someplace closer.
Another vote for Sunday....
WAC show is also good , I need a CPL piece... t |
phil , I ain't gonna be caught carrying no mouse gun....got anything a little more man-sized ?
anyway , good to we have been missed t |
lil'fella huh...
well I guess compared to you , I am a lil'fella t |
Hey - last time I was at the "pit"
in the Capital Forest a few weeks ago they had a sign up saying it was closed indefinitely for logging (the tri-angle pit or some-such name) - although it was packed with shooters on a Saturday. Just FYI. I understand there is another pit close by but I haven't seen it. |
That's not a bad idea. Anyone who wants can meet up at the WAC show on Saturday, do lunch and drinks after then on Sunday meet up at G-F! That is a great idea!!! That way we're not so rushed to get out blasting on a funshow day. I do need to get there (WAC) one day or another though 'cause CavVet made me shoot up all my 9mm at Wades today |
Surely there is SOMEPLACE to shoot closer to Puyallup.
I have not done the funshow in a few months, and I What happened to the place up Forest road 72 or what ever. Up there where SC made his KOMO debut? I wanna shoot, but I gotta shop! |
Well if someone knows of one they need to speak the hell up about it. I'll be at the show Saturday so 2wP you're on for activities afterwards and I wanna kill some pumpkins on Sunday. I'm thinking 155gr AMAXs in my 300WM. |
Puyallup to Sultan = 65 miles Puyallup to Olympia = 34 miles Puyallup to Granite Falls = 75 miles Edited to add: That is just city to city, not city to pit mileage. |
Well if we don't meet at G-F until noon or 1:00 then there is time for anyone that needs to run to Puyallup first. They just need to shake it a little early.
I think if you are all going to goto the funshow, why don't you just head out to I-90 exit 38 or what ever it is out there, gotta be a hell of a lot closer than Sultan, or Granite. |
I ran the mileage out last week. Puyallup to Elma (the Rusty Tractor? to be extact)61 miles. + more miles (but not too many to the location we used before) Puyallup to Granite Falls (The McChevron) 77 miles) the shooting spot is appx 8 miles beyond that? Somebody make the call damnit I want to kill some squash and I don't need to start out in Puyallup on Sunday as my shopping will be finished on Saturday. |
Im not from here BUT.....
I always thought Sultan Basin was small trip SE from Seattle. like not too far NE of Puyallup. 65 miles? Isnt there a place down by Enumclaw? WTF am I thinking of? I cant believe in this rural ass state (outside King CO) there is no place to shoot for 65 miles from Puyallup. Damn, times like this I wish I was from here. I know Seattle/King CO well, I know if I was from here I would know someplace closer than 65 miles away. I guess I have to choose between Show & Shoot... |
That's practically 2wPs backyard you'd think he'd know eh? |
What the hell is an Enumclaw?
There used to be all kinds of places to shoot around my place. They are slowly transforming all my spots to huge housing developements for all the damned yuppies from CA and OH. When I go, I go all the way out to Sultan or Chehalis or Elma etc.
CavVet, Sultan is out by Monroe. I know there are some spots up HWY 410 out of Enumclaw near Greenwater, but I don't really know exactly where they are or how big etc. |
Yeah, what he didnt say........... |
I think Ft. Lewis is already well protected from any invading pumpkins, however I bet the rangemasters there would get a kick out of CavVet bumping his FAL. |
I forgot it was supposed to be blowing up punkins. I bet they not onlyh would NOT allow that at Ft Lewis, I bet the range masters there would find NO humor in my bumpability. I would hate to go to the stockade years after discharge.
I dunno CavVet maybe you can talk them at Ft Lewis into letting us play on the artillery range with the big guns?!
I do want to take a trip down to the Lewis range and shoot wayyyyyyyyy out there sometime though. |
No wonder why nothing gets done in this state...
Joe, don't eat the mother in laws cooking this time! I'm going to tell you fokkers to plan on Sunday in GF, 10am link up time. Anyone wants to plan otherwise speak up quick! |
uhhh, wheres granite falls? 10am link up at the shootin place or at the gun show?
Can someone post the directions to granite falls.
Can I wear MARPAT there? |
Directions to the Granite Falls pit are located in the Files section of WA-Shooters.
So its shopping at the WAC on Saturday, meet at G-F on Sunday at 10:00. Is 11:30 late enough to meet on Saturday for those of us that want to go out for lunch? If so, then meet at the cafe inside the gunshow at 11:30 or head up to TGIFridays up the hill from the fairgrounds and meet there at 12 noon.
CavVet, my offer to pick up whatever you need from the gunshow for you on Sat and bring it up to G-F still stands if you want to send me a specific list of what you need. |
[>(] Sniff, Sniff...Feel the love? IM incoming. I hope you have platinum. |
So, is it OK to use tannerite at G-F? It is pretty close to the road and I would hate to attract any unwanted attention even though it IS legal to use. Tannerite + smiling pumpkin =
The sherriff followed Bunnyman and myself from GF last time into town. As Tannerite is legal, GF is rural, and the cops are always out there anyway...
I would advise take it if you want to. Shoot everything you take. |
All right who doesn't know the GF pit and can't seem to can't find it on a map?
If needed we have an alternate meet up location in GF if enough dunderheads need to be led to the spot. Sound off if you need some pathfinding done. 2wP, I was thinking that mr pumpkin needs to meet mr tannerite!
For you? No. For Super Chickens media friends? No. |
2WP sent me some directions, we meeting at the Chevron or McDonalds or the pit?
It's the McChevron, it's all in one, but if no one needs to be led to the pit then the rally point should be the pit. Those that need leading should speak up. |
There are good odds that I may be skipping the fun-show , but I definately want to shoot some punkins(it's payback time) on Sunday.....one thing however , it would be awesome if someone was able to hook up some sort of carpool knida situation as may vehicle is old and a bit on the un-trustworthy side and I would rather not drive it all the way to GF....of course gas money and lunch would be on me......
IM thru the board if there are any kind souls willin' to help a brotha out.... t |
I need someone to lead me to the pit, Im a noob! CK says he's in.
Sorry folks, was sitting in the dark without power for the last day and a half.
Granite Falls, on Sunday, at 10:00 AM Nov 2 sounds like a plan to me. Pumpkins should be real cheap Saturday morning.... |
That's what I was thinking. Get them on Saturday and you still have time to carve them into your favorite libby charactor. Be it Billy Cunton, Rosie McDonalds, Diane Fuxstein or whomever. Then the attack on the pumpkin line will be that much sweeter! |
If you are meeting for lunch on Saturday chime in on the Nov 1st thread so I know who if anyone to look for!
