Arizona is a large state, you might want to specify where you are going to be.

Make sure you drive through Sedona. I just moved to Flagstaff from NY and by far and away Sedona is the most beautiful place I have seen. You can see a lot just driving around or you can take a Jeep tour, or better yet rent a Jeep and hit the trails.

Since markm hasen't responded yet, my suggestion on "what to do and where" consists of the following:

Make a U-turn at the border and go home

You can try open carry. And if you are down by Tucson, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is always good for a few hours. And it shouldn't be too hot.

Last time I was there, a big local Cooper's Hawk took a shot at the hawk in the show. All the show birds more or less decided to flatten themselves in the back of their cages.
