Do you have to be a Rio member? I've shot practical pistol but couldn't even load, aim and shoot in time at the Casa Grande shoot -- an obvious sign I need practice. By "any" rifle, will ACOGs, red dots, etc...are allowed? Sounds like lots of fun though. |

No Rio Membership required. The match usually starts going at around 9AM instead of 8AM, so I don't show up till then. two classifications at this match Irons and Open...open allows for any optics (including dual optics) and bipods. Larger matches have 3 classifications, tactical iron, tactical scope, and open. |

I might show up just for the rifle stages.
Should I bother to mount a bipod? How many mags should I have on? No, I'm not going to wear my LBV. It's been about 4 years since I shot this match. |

I wouldn't bother with the bipod. One mag in the rifle and two on your person should be plenty.

I'll be their! And I advise anyone that hasn't tried it to come too. I had a blast last time. Also be ready to help reset targets and count hits. That's just part of it. |

I'm not sure I understand what you mean...if you mean the stage design, that changes every month. You could try calling Rio Salado to find out who the match directors are and get it from them. If you're interested in designing stages for matches, USPSA has some design books and programs made for doing it. You should come out and watch the match at least if you're not going to shoot in it. |

Let's all meet up in front of the stat shack at 9:00...this match is kind of disorganized and if we stick together and shoot it as an AR15.com squad it will go more smoothly and be more fun for all of us.
I can record you all with the company digital video camera, for posting videos or for your personal use if you like. |

I'm gonna be there....
this is kind of a first time thing for me, but i'm willing to go all out, and yes, i'm wearing all my gear (finally: a chance to wear it out of the living room!). SR-will the amount of ammo you're recommending be enough for a few runs? i'm fine on rifle ammo but pretty skimpy on 12 gauge... looking forward to seeing you all there. |

what I said was enough to shoot all the stages at least once...most rifle stages are 45 rounds and less, shotgun stages 25 rounds and less. That is if you hit everything...bring extra, remember Murphy's Law. |

dear god,
i LOOK even slower than i FELT shooting the stage! actually, despite my shortcomings i had a great time and am definitely going to be going to all the matches i can...there really is no better way to find out how your gear (and YOU) perform until you get away from the bench. fun stuff. |
