How in the world is this thread still active?

We should start a new one, since it took me a few minutes to realize that I was reading 8 year old posts.

A heads up for Belmont county. The primary person who's job it is to do the applications is out on medical leave and they have someone else trying to do it in addition to their normal work. They currently have a massive backlog because of it. I called a month ago and left a message that I needed to make an appointment so I could renew my permit, I still hadn't heard back so I gave them a call today and asked how long it would take before I would get a call back to make an appointment. They said it might be as late as sometime in August. Meanwhile, I am sitting here with an expired permit because they have taken so long.

I will try to remember to give an update when I hear back from them.

7/21/16 Update - Got a call back, I have an appointment to go in and renew on the 26th. The deputy filling in said the days he is doing permits are Tuesdays and Thursdays as opposed to the Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule that they typically do (and have stated on their website).

Summit County Renewal was 2 weeks this time. That was mostly due to the deputy being on vacation the Thanksgiving week.

Clark county. 2 days. No BS or any problems.

My record is so clean and I'm young, so I expected it to take longer because there is nothing, thankfully it didn't.

I do have a peculiar last name, which probably helps.

Wood county took 6 days.  The sheriff's office has a sign that says "keep calm and carry" above desk. Lol.  Very happy with wood county for CCW, NFA business.

Has been a couple years since I got my CCW but a friend took same amount of time recently.

I got my first CHL in Franklin back in 2008. I turned in the application late on a Friday afternoon, and by 7am on Monday morning I had a voicemail telling me I could come pick up my license.

I got my second one in Wood in 2015 (first one lapsed while I was stationed in Germany). I want to say that one took 4 business days, if that. Parking was a lot easier though.

Submitted paperwork today for Belmont County. I have to say that was the best application experience I've had. Deputy Carpenter was fantastic and I was in and out in a few minutes.

Submitted paperwork 8/19/20, Issued 8/21/20, received card in the mail 8/24/20.

Applied in Mahoning County for it the morning of 11/3 (yes, Election Day). Was notified on 12/15 that it was ready to pick up.

When I applied, I was told I had the distinction of being the first person from Ashtabula County they'd seen apply there. I'd have applied elsewhere, but Ashtabula was booked up all the way to the end of January 2021 at the time with their appointment system. Mahoning was first-come, first-served.

Please consider the start date the day you handed all your paperwork in and the end date when you picked your permit up.

This will allow future applicants the opportunity to see what county around them is fastest and who will keep them waiting longer.

Thank you.

Turned the paperwork in on Monday in Marion. I haven’t gotten a call yet and I’m a little worried (for probably no reason at all). It’s never taken this long before.

Edit: Worrying over nothing. They called Friday.

Applied a few minutes ago, Madison county.

Super easy to deal with, I showed up a half hour early, greeted the busy deputy in the window, got the paper from the wall and sat down. He saw when I was finished and called me up to handle it. Super fantastic VIP treatment.

They called me ready to pickup on the 26th.

15 days.
