Haven't been on in a while been busy.

Working for KBR stationed in Iraq.  All the troops on post are walking around with their m-16's and m-4's slung on their backs and the occasional SAW.  I was surprised to see the Army allow their troops to make personnal modifications to their weapons.  No pics to upload though

They 'KBR' are very strict on OPSEC.

Oh well have to deal with it.

Whos KBR? Glad to see you poke your head in. What are things like over there?

Stay safe and tell the troops to keep up the good work.

Kellog, Brown and Root...division of Halliburton, I believe. They took care of a lot of the laundry, food, etc, at least as far as I saw.

kbrjobs.com if your interested in looking them up.

They do everything you can think of.  Even small arms repair.

All overseas income up to the 1st 80,000 is tax free as long as you stay 330 days out of the next 365 out of the US.  So over the next year I'll get 2 paid r+r.  10 days each time.  Hell they even pay the first $860 towards the airfare.

You can leave at anytime and quit.  They will still fly you home.

And no I'm not a recruiter, nor do I get a referal bonus.

Keep on supportin' our boys and their mission!

Better to fight them buggers in the sand pile than over here on Main Street.

If our fighters have needs/wants, let us know. we'll see what we can do.

Care packages are always nice for the troops, they can't always get to a PX/BX like us KBR's can. Deodorant, hand wipes, baby wipes, google up some troop support websites.  If you have kids in school talk with their teachers and see if they could write some letters for a class assignment or extra credit if you live in a liberal school district. After Christmas is over the "support the troops" campaigns slow up.

The support they give us outside the wire is fantastic.  Our convoys are supported by 5 gun trucks armed with M'4's and 50 cals',  roaming air support we don't see, plus the patrolling QRF's(quick response force)I've seen 2 cars and a house get lit up with 50cal.  Although we got IED'ed and SAF(small arms fire) first. I wish I could by them a beer after we get back.  But this is a DRY war.  No alchohol, porn, weapons(for us) or we get sent home.  They do have hooch searches from time to time.  Usually after someone get caught with something they shouldn't have and squeal.  Then both parties get sent home and the "health and welfare" inspections begin.

Killian, see if you can get some real input on M16/M4 performance in the sand.....I would like to know.......and Thanks to you for being brave enough to do this job you have.....all political BS aside, the troops are THERE now, and need whatever we can provide them......as far as "fighting them over there, instead of over here"....that's a crock of shit...I don't recall any firefights in lower Manhattan on 9/11.....and that theory didn't work for the Spanish or the British, did it?....besides, last time I checked, Osama was still on the loose.....SemperFi!
