Got invited out to a friends house this thursday who happens to be a deputy sheriff. So I figured I'd bring my first build completed build and shoot it. Loaded the clip and pulled the trigger once, three rounds came out. the fourth round chambered but didn't fire.I got the strangest look from him, he said "am I going to have to arrest you?"
He tore the gun down, I let him at that point to show him how easy it is to clean it. I left out the disconnector spring. Ran home checked with someguys on this board to see what I did wrong. He said the gun wasn't leaving with me until I could show proof it was totally accidental. Spring was still plastic showed him, then put it in.  Gun operated without a flaw after that. You want to talk about leaving brown stains in the underwear.

He knows class III is legal if have you the tax stamp and if it's 1986 or older. He knows it was a total mistake on my part. I was trying to get him to change his mind on the ar15 his dad is a 1967 vet of vietnam.

Gee, sounds like a great "friend".

Wouldn't let you leave until you could "show proof" it was totally accidental?

I won't write the things that I would have said, but it would've included several expletives.

Several choice words were used. All in all I do believe what he did was in my best interests.I was talking about taking it to either rapid fire in Troy or delta armory in Urbana to have it inspected and or fixed, saved some cash, 1 or 2 car trips and a possible court dateif it was never fixed. By the way he was joking about the arrest.
He priced and finally bought a lower. For the rest I told him sherluk,del-ton, jsesurplus or brownells, reasons being these were the companies I went through to get the parts to complete mine and was very satisfied with the packaging and service I got over the phone, especially del-ton.

Delta Armory?  Is that an AR specialist?  I'm fairly new to Ohio and am always looking for toy stores.

FWIW, Rapid Fire is not doing gunsmithing work any more.  I know because I asked last time I was there two weeks ago.

They gave me the name of some guy in Bradford, which I will post after I get home.

Delta Armory is located at 1100-c north main(actually entrance is on twain ave.) phone is 484-8406. He also has a military vehicle  "museum". It's ran by Lance Ferryman. It's worth it just to stop in and see the vehicles. Not much of a showroom just call ahead of time.I believe he's open 10a-5p on the weekdays only. He is upfront and honest, all you have to do is ask around. He is also the consumate sportsman, he's hunted in africa and south americajust to name someplaces I've never hunted. He has as trophies and some very impressive pictures. He took very good care of me when I had my little fiasco with Vandalia tactical. The thing about him was unlike some gunstores in the area he never bad-mouthed the wait time or that company he said sooner or later when dealing out-of-state to get something you'll get burned on the wait time.
