I'm starting a quest for a Dan Wesson "Patriot" M1911A1-type pistol.

Anyone know who carries the Dan Wesson line?

Anyone handled or fired this model?

According to their website, here are some of their local dealers:

New Albany Shooting Range
10299 Johnstown Road
New Albany, OH 43054
614-939-0111

Pro Gun & Sports Supply
2419 Front Street
Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221

Carl's Gun Room
1714 Windsor St.
Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221

I seem to remember also seeing one or two DW 1991's at BBC Armory at the shows but I don't know if these are just one-off's they have or if they are stocking just a few.

Thanks, I saw those and don't consider any of them real near by. I'll have to hit the gunshows I guess.

I have one of the early prototype patriots. I got it directly from Bob Serva in a trade. I absolutely love mine. Mine is set up quite a bit different than the traditional ones since it is a prototype. Mine has fixed 3 dot night sites, STI carbon fiber trigger, wilson combat extended mag release, and hogue double diamond rubber grips. I also have the beautiful deep blued finish that makes DW pistols so nice. I love my patriot, It functions flawlessly and I shoot it better than any other handgun I own.
