It's rumored he has a room dedicated to his handgun collection.

I haven't heard anything from him one way or another.  Best not to assume too much yet.

Just heard Bill Handle saying he's anti-gun, pro-abortion and something else.

I don't care about abortion, just guns.  Also he's better than that socialist pig

Uh yeah.... OK for him to have a room full of guns, but not you or me. And no, I'm not assuming anything..

Read more carefully next time.  Did you miss the rumored part?  I made sure to add that.

No I read it just fine and my comment stands. Rumored to or whatever, my reply wasn't towards you, but to people that have that perspective.

RINO?

Now I get it, never thought of that.

Also, how anti-gun is he.  The laws we have are some of the strictest.  Maybe that's enough for him.  Just a thought

Doubtful he's a RINO.  He maintained his Republican affiliation despite marrying a KENNEDY clan member, fer gossake!

If he's pro-choice, that's OK by me.  Whatever.

Even if he were to be a rabid anti, he's still a better choice than many Democraps.

I think that the truth, if told, would be that he's most likely to be generally pro-freedom, and pro-gun at least in a limited sense.  He may not be the sort to campaign for a machinegun in every closet, but I doubt he's a complete anti in any event.

Uuuuh, hell cmj, how many strikes you gonna give him?

Some of the things I mentioned aren't strikes against him, but points awarded him for sticking to his guns, so to speak, even when married into the fringes of the Kennedy clan.

To marry a Kennedy and still chair the REPUBLICAN Presidential Council on Physical Fitness is to prove that your party affiliation is stronger than the influence of your wife's family.

I also don't consider pro-choice to be a strike. Quite the contrary,  I consider it to be a plus!
(Beyond that single statement,  I will not entertain any further discussion on THAT subject because there's no way that those on opposite sides of THAT fence will ever reach an agreement, so why argue?   Only fools argue when neither has a hope of changing the other's mind.

Irregardless of what your personal beliefs are, I'm under the impression that most Republicans are pro-life and pro-freedom.

If a political figure is going to take a stand on issues that is contradictory to the position held by the party in general, that deteriorates the credibility of that figure to associate themselves with the party.

'Oh, yea, you guys can give me money for my campaign. I don't represent what your contributors believe, but I'll take your money.'

Case in point, Sen. Jim Jeffords.

In my opinion, Schwarzenegger = Jeffords = RINO.

Best,

Out of curiosity, would you consider ME to be a RINO, as I hold some Libertarian beliefs and don't hold the pro-life position?

Actually, my position on that particular issue is that I would never presume to tell someone else that they should or should not make the moral choice pertaining to abortion.   You will be judged by the supreme being, NOT by me, and I won't interfere with your decision on this matter.  Choose either way,  the point is, I'll grant you the right to make that choice for yourself, for better or for worse.

Understand very clearly,  I'm as pro-freedom as anyone you will ever meet.   Perhaps I'm in favor of some freedoms that you don't think we should have.

I'm the extreme opposite of these liberals who don't know what liberty is and want to deprive you of those liberties,  and I'm not exactly as far into the right hand corner as some Republicans.

Freedom, REAL freedom, defines my political stance.   If that makes me a RINO, so be it.  Just remember that there's not a gun restricting law I'd vote for or support in any way.

My view on the Republican party is that its greatest weakness is that it contains a lot of far right, fundamentalist hysterics.   And if you want to know what "fundamentalist" is, start by looking in the dictionary for the word "fundament".   You're sitting on it.  It's an ass.

As such, I think the Republican party could do itself a BIG favor by moderating its stance slightly, and in doing so,  they would not necessarily alienate the far right, but they would gain the support of many of the moderate
fence sitters.

Remember, he is from a socialist contry.

Sorry, but what the hell is a RINO?  I know I look stupid but I have to ask.

I haven't quite figured out why abortion is a state issue all of a sudden - execpt that Davis is pro-abortion.

I would ask those who do it to please stop DISTORTING the position of those who refuse to deprive others of their right to choose as "pro abortion".

It's exactly the same thing as describing those who support their right to keep and bear arms as "pro murder by gun".   Inaccurate, unfair, and more than a little dishonest.

I am not pro abortion or anti abortion, and in fact I don't even really care to characterize myself as "pro choice".  I characterize myself as being totally unwilling to dictate any course of action to you on this subject.   "Pro freedom as guaranteed by law" fits best.

Pro choice is not pro abortion, either.   It's pro choice and nothing more.   The freedom to choose for yourself, whether it's morally right or wrong.    God may judge you, I won't.

I dont remember where I read it, but he has said that he is pro "reasonable gun-control." From what I read in the article, it appears that he thinks the current gun-control is too much for his liking.. now if only we could get a senator or assemblyperson to start a bill to repeal the BS AW ban, and somehow it made it to Arnold's desk......

Edited to add: It could be worse.. we could have Feinstein as Governor. ::shudders::
