@RINO_Hunter
Sorry, I haven't been on ARF for a few years before the VA stuff popped up, so I forgot to check mentions. I'm in Jax too, and if you rented that place I would love to get in on it. I have been trying to figure out logistics for the trip. I'd love to carpool as well. I'm happy to throw gas and rent money down, and I have a bit of gear I can loan out if needed, but nothing very fancy.
I'll send you a PM.
Random packing thoughts: merino wool baselayers are the best thing ever, and being non-synthetic don't melt to flesh. Synthetic fibers and fire don't mix. A full face mask respirator with a P100 particulate filter will handle almost all riot dispersal agents. That said, Virginia does have a mask law, so I don't know if that is legal. From reading the law, it stipulates that the intent must be to conceal your identity, so using a mask for chemical protection would be hard for a prosecutor to argue, I think. A paper map of Richmond is a good backup to have in case things went completely tits up. Look up crime rates in parts of the city and circle the areas to avoid beforehand if you're not familiar with the area (I'm not at all.)
If 100k people really do show up, make sure you have at least 3 days of food and water on your back, as well as enough warmth available that you could sleep outside for a night if you need to. That said, in full battle rattle trying to sleep on a street is probably going to end badly. A backpack with a set of street clothes and enough room to stash your gun out of sight is a good idea. Immodium and a plan for how to pee is a good idea too. If you're prescribed medication, keep it on you and if it is a controlled substance make sure it is in the original bottle. Even with a prescription you can be charged with possession if it's out of the bottle. Hospitals usually ignore blood type info and just type you to be sure, but if you have any known allergies that information should be prominently displayed somewhere, along with emergency contact information.
I don't know if there are any lawyers in the area who are known to be friendly to the cause, but it's a good idea to have phone numbers for legal council or any other help you may need written on an arm.
I'm hoping the police there will be friendly so we won't be dealing with the types of issues I'm planning for above. As mentioned earlier, I'm only intending to go with medical kit so I can help anyone who gets hurt, not to cause trouble myself - I just prefer to be ready if it's hoisted upon me.
