Had to sell my kid into indentured servitude 2 days ago for ice, but I got a good deal as it was only 6 months per bag!

Going to miss that kid! Hope he will understand one day!

Power and internet back south of Palatka.

If you were to look at the outage map Duke provides, my neighborhood is the only one in Pinellas without power.    We all know that's a load of shit, but it looks great that they fabricate those Friday by 11:59pm claims.  Oops, disregard.  Looks like it's working again.  Pretty sure they're going to have to pull some He-Man shit to lift this tree off the line, fix the pole/line and restore power before midnight.  The only positive is that it's about to storm and maybe the wind will blown the tree off the line.    Yea, not likely.

I can't even get the outage map
to pull up!   Don't worry, duke is notorious for over promising and under performing.  (This does not apply to lineman, operators, gps's)

I got my power back just after 1:00 PM today. We slept in our camper and that made
it tolerable, but could not sleep well thinking about someone stealing a generator. I know
it was unlikely, but could not relax. It was an experience for sure.

I have two EU2000i's but am planning on getting a bigger unit that can power most of the
house through a manual transfer set up with main breaker lockout.

Seminole (next to Largo) in Pinellas County.  Nobody in our 'hood has power yet.  We had one damage assessment team come thru Wednesday (contractors to Duke Energy from out of state), another Thursday (different contractors to Duke Energy from out of state), another one today (Duke Energy).  Duke Energy guy had NO IDEA there had already been two prior damage teams come thru.  Come to find out, basically Duke Energy shitcanned the first two teams' work and delayed our damage assessment by three days.  So we are three days behind on getting our power restored.  Both sets of contractors who walked our yard said the same thing:  "We have a plan to restore power, but Duke Energy's bureaucracy will probably bury it..."

We are on Day 7 of no power now; kids are bored and antsy, wife is not handling heat well (neither am I).  We have decided to run the generator 15 hours a day with the box fans blowing because it is 87 degrees inside our house.  Yeah, things could have been worse, but this is painful.

ETA:  Here is the Duke Energy outage map for my AO as of 2245 Friday.  Power restored by midnight, my ass.  Each of those orange triangles represents over 2000 people without power...

Lake Worth

Junior got power back last night. Dinner time.

I gotta say their update emails were pretty timely and their outage map was accurate. Even the time estimates were within an hour or two.

Here's hoping the rest of you get on line soon.

I was selling a house over in that area.

Just got power back here in Shore Acres.  I'd say about 1/4 of the neighborhood is still without power though.    Kick ass crews from NY swarmed our neighborhood today and got us back up.  I've seen 1 Duke truck since the day after, and from everyone I talked to, it was the same (and only) Duke guy in our entire area.  Guy was busting his ass, but it was an overwhelming task for one dude to service was has to be 3521 homes.  Duke is going to get a sternly worded letter after this.

Back to power on the east side of Astor.  I guess duke finally let these out of town guys go to work instead of holding them back.  2 line crews had a large, although rural, area online in half a day.

Nice to quit burning so much gas and hearing the hum of the generator

West side of the river .
No power. No sewer.
Fish and shit in the streets. Due to list stations. Gonna be a big fish die off I bet. And it's gonna stink.
Disaster relief stuff showed up yesterday. Shower and bath stalls and water. Food is being handled by the local church far as I know.
Waters gone down a bit as well....keep dropping.

Thought you got power back back and lift stations up?  Flood shut it down again?  Need power or anything???

FEMA is paying for hotels, may as well use it, you're already paying for it

Finally got power restored about 5pm today!!

Still have two BIG power crews working in the dark right now to restore power to the other side of the street. Cherry-picker is up at the transformer, with guys on the ground shining spotlights up so the guy in the bucket can see.

No I'm ok. That's at the in-laws rental. We drove down to check on it for him.
I've had power since Thursday. But down by the river they keep it off.

Oh.
You came to my side of the river it seems.
Go north of the bridge.. it's all under from there to back by blue creek.

The smell is strong even here...it was during matthew. Open your Windows next trip over the bridge. Lol.

I saw a freshwater flounder or whatever they call them..first in a long time...

You ever hit up the veggie/seafood stand that sets up on Alice ? They got hammered from what they told the wife. Dunno when they'll be back.  Hated running to town for fresh veggies and seafood lmao.
