Well, he was sitting on the beach enjoying cocktails a couple days ago. Now he's probably clenching he buttcheeks. View Quote Kind of a sequence of ill timed coincidences have stranded me on this island for an undetermined amount of time. Dunno when I will be able to fly back to Florida. Guess I will have to see how has the damage is after. |

Jupiter FOP checking in.
All's quiet on the Eastern front, 5miles from the shoreline. We're standing fast and holding down the FOP. Initiating Shutter install Thursday afternoon. Water and Fuel stores completed LONG BEFORE this thing showed up. 3 cases MRE's as well as plenty of canned goods & Beer, Wine and Hard Stuff. Propane is secure. We are good to go! Awaiting further instructions. |

Orange park here. (Just south of JAX.) Crossing my fingers she goes out to sea. |

Da Pizzle: Port St. Lucie east coast checking in.
Trying to get the wife on board with bugging in. ETA: I just checked the FDOT turnpike and I-75 traffic cameras and there's significant Northbound traffic/slowdowns near all the major cities along the routes north and west out of the state. |
St Pete checking in. Still watching updates to determine if we need to bug out.
One theory, traffic is going to lighten up over time.
Broward-palm beach-MD schools canceled Thursday-Friday. Lots of folks grabbing kids and NB right now and probably first thing in morning. We're @ 80% bugging out of wellington Friday at 8am. Praying for a Matthew like east jog. |

Even with all the water doesn't Florida drain large amounts of rainfall fairly quickly?

Actually on the toilet doing the opposite lmao. Kind of a sequence of ill timed coincidences have stranded me on this island for an undetermined amount of time. View Quote When I was there last century it was just a little spit of rocks pushed out into the ocean made from the mountain they had blasted away at the other end. And the terminal appeared to be built of tin and pallets they had fished out of the ocean..... |

Palm Bay - Staying put.

I'm on the highest ground. Not even a Class D I think.
House is strong. Strong like ox. New construction (add on) meant newest codes all around so that works out for us as opposed most neighbors. Every window with sliders both doors rated. Roof attached so well the gutter guy got pissed working on the gutters two days ago. (No brackets, bolts.) Filled with supplies for weeks. And family. Family with guns. And kids. Kids with kindles. Really really looking forward to quality family time. Power or not. Word is power is not if but when. So be it. Give the crews time. Coolers and freezers are ready. Not like we haven't sweat before. I don't understand those who left their homes. Especially those who drove. When the f do they think they'll be able to come back? |
Doral \ Westchester here, staying put we're not in any evac zone, townhome community all conjoined and up to code, pretty solid all around. Plenty of supplies, ammo and gas haven't left for any storm I'm not about to start now.
Not there yet.
Flying back home Friday to soggy Titusville/Brevard. We are almost there. |
Fort myers for me and its looking like ill ride it out at home if it takes that easterly track.
Delray Beach, staying put. 3.5 miles inland at about 19ft above sea level; well stocked on supplies (minus Gas but i'm not driving anywhere to far anytime soon.)

I learned from the GD thread that FDrifting has been on Facebook and he and his group are okay in St. THOMAS.

Lakeplace doublewide 23' above sea level 4 mi from salt springs, 9 mi from the St Johns and 38 mi from the Atlantic. Hoping for the best. Tampa place 19' above sea level and 1 mi from the bay to the east and 1.4 mi from the bay to the west. All preps done but plywood hung over openings. Hope we're not screwed by one coast or the other or if it comes up the middle both places.

Driving north on 95 from Melbourne around 11:00am today very heavy traffic but it flowed nicely.
Only going to get worse. Shutters up. Just have to get the stuff off the porch which I can do tomorrow. The most important thing is next which is to set my Fantasy Football lineup for tonight's game. |
St Pete checking in.
I went out to stock up on hurricane supplies, cigars and booze in abundance for the hurricane party. Sheriff Bob called for "A" zone evacuations 6AM tomorrow. I'm in a no evac area and I'm expecting nothing more than tropical storm conditions. I saw only two gas stations had gas, out of the ten I passed while collecting supplies. |
St Pete Beach here. Yup, mandatory evacuation tomorrow though I just heard the time has been extended to noon.
Wtf does mandatory evacuation mean anyways? Is it illegal to stay put? |
