This is a Springfield garand.
The reciever was made in Mar. 1944. The drawing #'s on the reciever are, B 2 7 B with diamond over D 28291 32. There are no rebuild markings on it.
The bolt has on it, D28287-19SA over A-6.
The trigger group is marked D28290-2. And is in excellant shape.
The op rod is marked D85382SA. it has a good piston and is in great shape.
The barrel has marked on the side 1-SA-4-45 with a sideways P. I do not have gages but a friend guaged it for me and he said that the TE was 3 and MW was 3. The barrel is nice and shiney with great rifleing and a good muzzle crown. It has no import marks of any kind.
The stock is an average grade dark stained birch with no stamps or markings of any kind. it has a very tight fit with the reciever and a good grain pattern.
The gas cylender is stamped with the last three digits of the serial number. and the gas plug has a worn finish and is marked P O.
Overall this is an exellant rifle that will be an excellant shooting M1 Garand.
